Trimble debuts enterprise recording feature for TrimFleet Communicator

The new add-on feature increases functionality for fleets in the construction materials market

Trimble has introduced a new enterprise recording feature for its TrimFleet™ Communicator, a communications solution for the construction materials market. The announcement was made at ConExpo 2017, one of the world’s largest international exhibitions for the construction industry.

The first-of-its-kind recording feature is available as an add-on for the TrimFleet Communicator, a Radio over Internet Protocol (RoIP) solution that replaces traditional radio communication. TrimFleet Communicator is a push-to-talk (PTT) application that gives fleets the ability to enable communication between drivers, dispatch or through point-to-point calls with specific individuals.

The Enterprise Recording feature allows an organization to access one year of recorded communication. A construction materials producer can search their fleet’s stored communications by date range, time of day, driver and specific channel.

“From providing efficient work instructions to relaying information on the jobsite, reliable, real-time communication is essential for any fleet in the construction materials industry,” said Jeff Van Grootel, director of product management for Trimble Construction Logistics. “Adding the ability to record communications gives organizations a digital paper trail and tangible evidence should customer billing disputes or safety and compliance issues arise.”

Trimble’s Construction Logistics Division provides real-time vehicle telematics, driver-safety monitoring, voice and text communications, business intelligence and analytics, vehicle diagnostics for maintenance and fuel tracking as well as performance reporting solutions specifically designed for the construction materials industry. Solutions provide the information necessary to enable users to make intelligent business decisions that improve business processes while decreasing operational costs and increasing fleet efficiency.
