Hyundai Construction Equipment Extends Free Use of Hi-Mate Remote Management System to Five Years

Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas, Inc., has announced that they have extended the period during which owners of Hyundai wheel loaders and their full-sized excavators may use its Hi-Mate remote management system free of charge to five years from three.

The extended Hi-Mate coverage applies retroactively to any qualifying Hyundai construction machine purchased since January 1, 2017.

Hi-Mate uses GPS technology to track Hyundai construction machines at any time and in any location.

The system monitors key machine components such as the engine, hydraulics and electrical system.

“Our customers have come to rely on the benefits that Hi-Mate delivers; so we’re excited to provide two additional years of free Hi-Mate access,” said Scott Rainwater, manager of Tech Support, Hyundai Construction Equipment Americas. “Hi-Mate saves our customers time and money in a variety of ways, but especially by promoting greater preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime. Hi-Mate is an important aspect of what we call ‘the Hyundai edge.’”

Coverage extension applies to all cellular-based Hi-Mate systems.

Hyundai recently introduced a mobile application of Hi-Mate for users with smartphones and other mobile devices which use the Android operating system. This can be download from the Google Play store. An iOS version for iPhones is in development.

The newly announced extension of free Hi-Mate use applies to the mobile app as well as the traditional version of Hi-Mate that runs as a browser-based application on any internet-enabled desktop, laptop or tablet computer.

Free use of Hyundai Hi-Mate is available on the standard cellular configuration, which uses cellular networks to send and receive data from machines in the field. Configuring Hi-Mate equipped machines with satellite connectivity requires the purchase of additional hardware and a subscription.

Hi-Mate allows users to view and manage operating information, select and activate alarms, and call up reports such as alarm incidents and maintenance status. For owners of multiple Hyundai wheel loaders and excavators, Hi-Mate can monitor any specific machine or combination of machines. In addition to providing complete, real-time information on the location and operation of Hyundai wheel loaders and excavators, Hi-Mate also supports theft prevention through such capabilities as geo-fencing and alarm notifications.

Hyundai provides free use of Hi-Mate with the purchase or lease of any new Hyundai HL900 series wheel loaders, HX series crawler excavators or HW series wheeled excavators.
