Van Dalen Metals Recycling upgrades with SENNEBOGEN equipment and technology

The Dutch scrap recycling company Van Dalen Metals Recycling & Trading in Moerdijk has been using two new SENNEBOGEN 835 Mobile material handlers since early 2016. The family-owned enterprise founded in 1947 now operates eight locations in the Netherlands and Great Britain, where they process ferrous and non-ferrous scrap.

For feeding the scrap metal shears and the shredders in Moerdijk, the sales and service partner Kuiken B.V. was able to deliver not one but two material handlers of the SENNEBOGEN 835 Mobile type within a short time. The machines are equipped with a 224 kW diesel engine, all-wheel drive and 18 m long equipment.

A special feature that operations manager Gijs van Etten particularly values is the elevating cab. Thanks to an additional, 1 m elevation on the upper-carriage, the operator can directly look into the scrap metal shears at an eye height of around 7 m during feeding.  Just as important as comfortable and safe working, however, are the incurred operating and service costs, which must be watched. Thanks to the innovative Green Efficiency technology of SENNEBOGEN machines, they save up to 15% fuel in comparison to existing competitors’ machines, as van Etten confirms.

New machine generation with SENTRACK telemetry system

For the operator, the changeover to a new machine generation first means more room in the spacious Maxcab and support from the SENTRACK control and diagnostics system, which is used in both machines of the current E-Series. The cab with sliding door can be easily and safely entered, and a gallery around the upper-carriage protects during daily maintenance.

A comprehensive lighting package and peripheral cameras ensure an optimum all-around view during demanding material handling. The machines are also equipped with the new SENTRACK telemetry system. This allows operations manager van Etten to always keep an eye on his machine park. Among other things, the system provides live data for monitoring the operating states, maintenance management, or current consumption values, and individually to the user. Operational and maintenance planning can therefore be done conveniently at a desk.
