RIDGWAY Rentals takes delivery of £9M worth of new Komatsu Machines

Based in Oswestry, Shropshire, third-generation family owned business RIDGWAY Rentals Ltd is all set to take delivery of 60 large earthmovers from Marubeni-Komatsu of Redditch. The mammoth £9million deal includes a large number of Komatsu’s 13 ton zero tail swing excavators plus 22 ton, 30 ton, 36 ton, and 50 ton excavators along with a range of dozers and 30 ton dump trucks.

The zero tail swing PC138US-11 machines are EU Stage IV compliant, offering customers the latest in fuel economy and emissions reduction, whilst being able to work in super tight spaces. However, the real showstoppers of the order are the PC210LCi-11 excavators and D51PXi-24 and D61PXi-24 dozers featuring intelligent machine control.

As early adopters of this factory integrated technology, RIDGWAY were one of the first plant hirers to offer such machines to their customers. With the ability to electronically read the site plans and ensure that the machine operates in the most efficient way, many of RIDGWAY’s customers have already benefitted from the minimised work effort, shortened job times and reduced fuel usage the technology brings. As a result, customer demand for these intelligent machines is growing, with this batch of new machines representing additions to the fleet as opposed to renewals.
