McCann keeps the wheels in motion with the appointment of a new Fleet and Plant Manager
Nottingham-based civil and electrical engineering firm, McCann, has continued to expand its team with the appointment of new Fleet and Plant Manager, Paul King.
Paul brings with him a wealth of knowledge and industry expertise and he will be based at McCann’s head office in Chilwell, Nottingham.
His core responsibility is the day-to-day management of the company’s fleet of vehicles. As part of this, he is responsible for ordering new vehicles and plant, planning ahead for future growth and expansion, continuing to seek environmentally-friendly ways of working for the company when it comes to its fleet of vehicles and plant, maintaining and renewing insurance for the vehicles, reporting accidents and carrying out licence checks, managing company cars and maintaining and building relationships with suppliers.
Paul holds a CPC licence and McCann is now putting him through the FORS Practitioner course to build upon his already impressive fleet management skills. McCann achieved FORS Silver Status as a company at the end of 2016 for its fleet management system and approach to managing work related road risks, and regards FORS as an important part of the processes within the company.
With 27 years of industry experience, he has worked in similar roles for JCT600 and Crawford Amber Doors. He became aware of the position within his previous job working at a recruitment firm – and knew immediately that it was too good an opportunity to ignore in order for him to return to a profession that he is very passionate about.
After being appointed as McCann’s Fleet and Plant Manager, Paul said, “For me, I am living the dream to be working for McCann within this role. I have a real passion and love for fleet management. It is great to be working for a company that invests heavily and wisely in its fleet and its people – and I look forward to what the future holds with McCann”.
John McCann, Managing Director of McCann, is pleased to secure Paul for the Fleet and Plant Manager’s position because of his wealth of experience – “It is clear to see that Paul brings a lot to the table and he can certainly help us to grow, maintain and develop our fleet of vehicles and plant moving forward”.
