The commitment PT Pyramida Raya Persada showed to their customers of all sizes, big and small, helped its business boom, but as business grew, so did their asphalt production needs. That led the company to turn to the Ammann ABC 160 SolidBatch Asphalt-Mixing Plant in 2013.

The plant’s capacity of 1750 kg per batch enabled a productivity jump of 200 per cent. The increased production has helped support many small yet crucial projects. “We serve every customer, even if they only need one tonne of asphalt,” said Tadjius Tamsil of PT Pyramida, which has headquarters in Bogor, Indonesia.

Daily production is about 1,000 tonnes in the off-season and 1,500 tonnes in the peak season. The plant is able to operate efficiently, even as production demands change.

While the company provides asphalt to smaller contractors, it also has big orders, too. PT Pyramida supplies about 100,000 tonnes of asphalt mix to the government annually.

Specific projects include supporting the Indonesian National Armed Forces base at Pondok Cabe in 2015. The airport expansion and refurbishment required production of 10,000 tonnes in a week, and the ABC 160 SolidBatch came through.

Support for a camping and recreational area required 5,000 tonnes and PT Pyramida and the ABC SolidBatch plant were able to turn that around quickly as well.

Key plant features help on projects of any size. Parts last longer than those of other plants, said David Gouw of PT Pyramida. The electric system is consistent, production is steady and maintenance is simple.

“The plant is productive and the components last long,” Gouw said. “It is an efficient plant, too.”
