Danish family contractor swears by quality Hitachi Construction Machinery
A new Hitachi ZW220-6 wheel loader has been delivered to Jysk Kloak Entreprise ApS (JKE), a specialist sewage and landscaping contractor based in Tjæreborg on the west coast of Denmark. It is the latest addition to the company’s Hitachi fleet, which includes a ZX250LC-6 medium and three mini excavators (ZX10U-2, ZX18-3 and ZX27-3).
Owner Jan Christensen decided to invest in the machine after testing the ZW180-5. “The ZW220-6 was the right choice, as it has more power and torque than the smaller model,” he says. “We needed the most versatile model available for our requirements.”
Fitted with additional lights and a larger 4m³ bucket by the Danish Hitachi dealer, HP Entreprenørmaskiner A/S (HPE), the wheel loader was supplied in February 2017 with a service contract with a 5,000-hour/three-year protection plan for the engine. One of its first jobs was assisting with the construction of a new extension to a small shopping mall. The ZW220-6 was used to clear the excavated materials that were moved to an adjoining car park, due to limited space on site.
No downtime
“The operator likes the new wheel loader and it’s working really well,” says Jan. “It is powerful, fuel efficient and we’ve not had any downtime, which is so important to our business. There is also strong support from HPE with excellent availability of genuine spare parts and its professional technicians know the machines inside out.”
The family business has always been loyal to HPE and Hitachi, as Jan continues: “The most important thing about Hitachi is that I know the machines are of the highest quality. They are completely reliable, so there is no need to consider other brands of construction equipment.”
Operator Henrik Svenningsen was pleasantly surprised by how much he liked the new Hitachi wheel loader after driving another brand of machinery for 15 years. “It is powerful, smooth to operate and the cab is spacious,” he says.
“It is stable and well balanced, and there is excellent traction. When loading trucks on this site, it is precise and doesn’t spill any materials. It also feels safe, with excellent visibility thanks to the rear-view camera, and is easy to operate.”
