MP Skills are proud to launch the new Weighbridge Operator apprenticeship, a versatile apprenticeship which is applicable to all levels of business and which is delivered through high quality training and assessment. The apprenticeship has a funding cap of £6,000.

Often a traditional entry route to starting employment in the sector, weighbridge operators gain valuable knowledge of the operation during the apprenticeship and play a key role in the efficiency of the logistics process.

Our new, flexible apprenticeship will equip the apprentice with the skills and knowledge an employer requires, whether it’s working at a satellite weighbridge or as part of a 24/7 shift operation.

On top of this, the Weighbridge Operator apprenticeship also delivers the MPQC Weighbridge Vocational Qualification as part of the apprenticeship journey, assuring employers that the apprentice is able to demonstrate competence and reached the high standards set out by the industry.

“MP Skills have listened to what employers expect from this apprenticeship. With this information we have developed a versatile programme of training and assessment that is adaptable to meet the employers’ needs. This new apprenticeship builds on the success of the Mobile and Static plant apprenticeship”, comments Trish Jagger, MP Skills Commercial Manager.

This apprenticeship attracts £6,000 worth in funding, and provides great flexibility to employers. Non-levy employers may only need to pay just 10% of the agreed training costs.
