Wheel loaders and road graders are in the front line when the roads, parking lots and industrial sites must be cleared from snow to keep the society running in every weather. Nokian Hakkapeliitta Loader tires offer excellent grip around the year – now in new size 14.00R24.

When Nokian Hakkapeliitta Loader tire family was released in 2016, it received a warm welcome from professionals working in snowy areas. The added grip and improved handling added peace of mind for working in the parking lots, airfields and industrial sites that must be kept running in every weather.

The conditions also require speed and accuracy from a wheel loader. Originally available in sizes 17.5R25, 20.5R25 and 23.5R25, Nokian Hakkapeliitta Loader tire family now has a new size of 14.00R24 available from beginning of March.

“Besides wheel loaders, the new tire size enables also road graders to benefit from better winter traction”, explains Eva-Leena Varpe, Product Manager at Nokian Tyres. “In snowy and icy winter conditions, both loaders and graders need all the traction they can get.”

Works around the year

The use of Nokian Hakkapeliitta Loader tire is not limited to the coldest months of the year. “One of the tire design drivers was not to compromise the durability in summer use on paved surfaces”, Varpe says. “Nokian Hakkapeliitta Loader tire works around the year.”

The secret to tire grip and durability is both the aggressive, asymmetric open tread pattern and the optimized rubber compound. “There is plenty of surface rubber”, Varpe points out. “It takes many working hours to wear it all out.”

When the tire grip matters

For extreme winter conditions, Nokian Hakkapeliitta Loader tire can be studded. “The tire has pre-marked stud locations for easy installation”, Eva-Leena Varpe says. “But even without studs the diagonal siping really grips hold of the road surface.”

“One of our test users in Lapland, Northern Finland, did 12-hour snow-clearing shifts almost every day six months a year”, says Tuomas Färlin, Business Line Director at Nokian Tyres. “He was amazed by the grip Nokian Hakkapeliitta Loader tire offers. When your job is to clear the roads, parking lots and railway yards for others, you’ll get peace of mind from the best technology available.”

Extra kilometres by retreading

It is possible to extend the life of grader or loader tires with the Noktop Loader retreading material. With its modular structure, the tread fits different tire widths and has properties similar to Nokian Hakkapeliitta Loader tire tread pattern.
