A local authority has renewed a major partnership with one of the UK’s leading providers of commercial vehicle solutions. Go Plant Fleet Services has supplied a range of more than 40 specialist vehicles to Pendle Borough Council, alongside a full maintenance service, for almost a decade.

Now the contract has been renewed for another seven years – with options to extend – following a competitive tender process.

Arthur Macklin, Bid Director at Go Plant Fleet Services, believes the decision illustrates the strengths of the company’s multi-faceted solutions and acts as endorsement of its partnership approach.

He said: “While we’ve worked with Pendle Council for some time, we had to go through a tender process to demonstrate quality and cost-effectiveness in every area of the contract.

“They discussed the option of keeping fleet management in-house, but see the operational and financial value of using us to both source their vehicles and provide comprehensive fleet management services.

“Our relationship with the council has evolved over almost 10 years. We supply their entire fleet of vehicles and ensure each is properly maintained through our own professional team.

“It’s a comprehensive service that delivers significant benefits to the authority and we’re obviously delighted that will continue.”

The contract hire fleet features 13 RCVs, 12 grounds maintenance vehicles, five compact sweepers, 13 vans and an 18-tonne truck-mounted road sweeper.

Maintenance is carried out by three expert technicians based full time at the council’s workshop in Nelson, Lancashire.

The contract extends Go Plant Fleet Services’ growing number of wide-ranging partnerships that include funding and fleet management services.

Mark Gallimore, Commercial Director, said: “Our aim is to help customers benefit both financially and operationally from sourcing specialist vehicles and fleet management from one supplier.

“We work hard to build and maintain strong relationships to become trusted partners of our clients. That way, we can create bespoke solutions that are a perfect fit for their requirements.

“We take time to review their existing operation in depth, analyse their future requirements and identify areas where savings and efficiencies can be made.

“We ensure that exactly the right vehicles are specified and that fleet management services are built around the precise need.”

Go Plant Fleet Services has vast experience in the specialist commercial vehicle sector, along with the capacity and infrastructure across every level of the business to deliver quality, cost-effective solutions.

As a nationwide business, Go Plant Fleet Services has access to competitive rates of funding that enable customers to secure new vehicles with no large up front capital outlay – providing certainty of costs for budgeting and minimising the risk associated with maintenance and vehicle resale.
