Tsurumi has expanded its HS series pumps with a model offering a remarkable performance mix for all types of dewatering tasks. The new HS3.75SL aims to expand in a segment where users already have a wide choice. Even on paper, the new pump is extremely promising.

A look at the pumping curve proves it: With sufficient pressure, this submersible pump actually moves a lot of water, despite its comparatively small, but therefore energy-efficient motor. With a motor output of only 750 watts, it moves 580 litres per minute and has a maximum head of almost 11 meters. Many other pumps cannot keep up with this.

The new top model in the proven HS series is safe to run dry, so it can run for a long time (unattended) without moving water. The water is therefore not guided through the pump casing, but via the spiral-shaped housing base with side outlet (80 mm). Such constructions are familiar from “ultra-hard” concrete water pumps: Even sand and gritty lumps can be passed through without sanding the inner components.

Tsurumi’s double internal mechanical seal made of silicon carbide, an extremely hard carbon compound, provides plenty of resistance. In addition, the motor shaft is protected from the abrasive water flow by a special protective sleeve with sealing ring and several sealing lips. If “thick soup” is to be pumped off, the agitator at the suction opening makes the medium flow.

A special feature here is the impeller made of polyurethane, which has proven to be ideal in this class in terms of durability – and is even recommended by the manufacturer for hard stone. Tsurumi’s centrifugal-based oil distributor ensures that the pump shaft is reliably lubricated in every position.

Last but not least, the manufacturer also ensures safety in detail. For example, at the cable inlet, which is sealed with epoxy resin to prevent water from creeping in.

The pump, which weighs less than 20 kg and is only 45 cm high overall, comes with a large handle and a 10 m long rubber power cable for 230 V. The efficient and modular design, which has always convinced Tsurumi customers, is apparent from the exterior: many parts can be replaced with standard tools on the customer’s own initiative. There is no need to call the mechanic or send in the pump to a service facility.

A version with an on-off float switch is also available.
