New Komatsu FE25-2 and FE30-2 electric forklifts combat CO2 emissions

Komatsu is aiming to realize a low-carbon society and to expand the introduction of their electric forklift with the FE series that contributes to CO² emission reduction in the 2.5 tons and 3.0 tons class from March this year.

The Forklift models released are the FE25-2 and FE30-2.

In addition to the environmental performance and economy unique to electric motors, the FE series features water resistance and dust resistance for outdoor use, and for long-term operation with a quick supplementary charging system.

The two models released this time have the same features, but increase the output of the traveling motor to achieve driving performance comparable to that of an engine-type forklift, the workability outdoors has been greatly improved.

In addition, a turning vehicle speed limit function contributes to stability and safety during turning and an accelerator one-pedal mode can accelerate, decelerate, and stop with just the accelerator pedal to support safe and comfortable work.

The FE series further expands the operating sites of electric forklifts by achieving a high level of safety and comfort in addition to environmental friendliness, economy, and workability.

Komatsu will continue to pursue quality and reliability, to maximize corporate value, and by outstanding value solving ESG issues and improving profits through customer value creation.

Environment, economy, workability

Improved running performance and running performance by increasing the voltage of the battery and increasing the output of the traveling motor, the maximum vehicle speed is 32% for 2.5-ton vehicles and 32% for climbing performance (6% and 18% for 3-ton vehicles, respectively).

By increasing the minimum ground clearance and increasing the diameter of the rear wheel tires, Komatsu have achieved the same running performance and step climbing performance as regular engine vehicles.

Electric forklifts can significantly reduce CO² emissions and electricity costs compared to diesel engine forklifts, contributing to a reduction in environmental impact and running costs.

Safety, comfort

Turning vehicle speed limit and a rear-wheel turning angle gauge contributes to excellent stability by detecting the turning radius when turning and automatically controlling the vehicle speed. In addition, the turning angle of the rear tires is displayed on a monitor so you can check the direction of the tires at a glance, for vehicle safety.

Accelerator one-pedal mode contributes to reducing operator fatigue and allows you to decelerate and stop by simply loosening the accelerator pedal without stepping on the brake pedal. Since the number of steps from the accelerator pedal to the brake pedal is greatly reduced, it contributes to reducing operator fatigue.

Environmental resistance and maintainability

Compatible with various on-site environments such as outdoors in rainy weather and dust it has improved water resistance and dust resistance, and demonstrates operating performance comparable to engine-type forklifts even outdoors in rainy weather or in dusty sites.

An easy maintenance battery means you don’t have to refill water as it hardly reduces the internal electrolyte during charging, there is no need to refill the battery or open the battery hood when charging.

Visualization of information.

In addition, the large colour multi-monitor in the cab allows you to see the status of the vehicle at a glance, such as the installed running speed and the remaining battery level.
