Tilbury Douglas appoints new Highways Director for Infrastructure

Tilbury Douglas has announced the appointment of Catherine Brookes as Highways Sector Director for their infrastructure business.

Catherine joins Tilbury Douglas on 7th June 2021 to support and drive the company’s highways business focussing on growth within existing and new frameworks for Strategic and Local Authority customers. Catherine will sit on the Infrastructure Senior Leadership Team reporting to Chris Tyerman, Managing Director for Infrastructure.

Catherine brings with her a wealth of experience in the highways sector across many aspects of highways delivery including capital and operational. She was most recently Director for Operations Business Transformation and Performance at Highways England.

Since joining Highways England (Agency) as a bridge engineer she progressed through the company with roles as Regional Operations Director for the Midlands and East regions and a period of time as Chief Highways Engineer.

A Chartered Civil Engineer, Catherine has over 30 years’ experience in the sector. She began her career in the private sector working for Gifford and Partners, and Mouchel, as well as running her own limited company for a period, focussing on bridge design and heavy civils predominately.

Commenting on the new appointment, Chris Tyerman, Managing Director for Infrastructure at Tilbury Douglas, said: “I am delighted to welcome Catherine to Tilbury Douglas as Highways Sector Director in our infrastructure team. Catherine brings with her a wealth of experience from her most recent roles that allows us to ensure our customer propositions are fully aligned to their needs and develop our future thinking and approach.”
