Komatsu has been selected as a “Digital Transformation Brand” jointly selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and the Tokyo Stock Exchange.

Since 2015, the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) has selected companies that are actively engaged in it utilization to bring about management innovation, revenue levels and productivity improvement in order to increase corporate value and strengthen competitiveness in collaboration with the Tokyo Stock Exchange as part of its efforts to promote strategic IT utilization of companies

Since last year, based on digital technology, Companies that are working on Digital Transformation that drastically change their business models and strengthen new growth and competitiveness are selected as “Digital Transformation Brands” by their industry category.

When selecting a company, it is judged by the primary evaluation according to the quality of their digital governance code, and the secondary evaluation from the viewpoint of corporate value contribution and Digital Transformation realization ability.

As a company that has built a system in-house to promote Digital Transformation, Komatsu champions the increase in Digital Transformation, with a track record of excellent digital utilization

28 companies were selected as “Digital Transformation Brand” this year, and two companies from among the selected companies were selected as “Digital Transformation Grand Prix”. This is the second selection of a brand (selected for the Digital Transformation Grand Prix 2020 last year) following last year, and the fifth selection if “aggressive IT management brands” are included.

Komatsu will continue to pursue “quality and reliability”, maximize corporate value, achieve sustainable growth through a virtuous cycle of improving profits and solving ESG issues through growth strategies, and aim to create new value through innovation in manufacturing and technology for the next 100 years, and to open up a future in which people, society, and the earth can prosper together.
