Hitachi continues expansion in Scotland with new Product Support depot

Hitachi Construction Machinery UK (HCMUK), a leading name in the construction, quarrying and demolition equipment market, are relocating their Scottish depot to support its fast-growing customer base and increasing demand for Product Support.

The company is leaving their 1,200sq ft Bellshill parts depot to open a new 12,500sq ft Product Support facility in Cumbernauld, Glasgow. The new depot will be at the heart of the Hitachi customer ownership experience in Scotland, providing Parts, Service and Sales support to new and existing customers.

Eight fulltime members of staff will be based at the new depot, complete with parts warehouse with trade counter, workshop space, modern office space to accommodate the Sales team and a large, concreted yard to house new and used Hitachi machines.

The new base will also create two new full-time positions at HCMUK, helping to boost the local economy and further secure the companies investment North of the Border.

Stephen Creaser, Director of Product Support at HCMUK, said: “HCMUK is delighted to announce the opening of this large depot in Scotland to support our loyal customers. By investing in bigger premises, employing new sales staff, additional Service Engineers and a dedicated Product Support Manager we can ensure that customer uptime will be maximised throughout the region to increase profitability and reduce machine downtime.

“There is massive scope for growth here in Scotland, as we have already gained the trust of many new customers since the announcement of the new depot, and we look forward to driving their business forward over the coming months and years.”

Hitachi Construction Machinery (UK) was revealed as one of the 200 largest companies across the North East earlier this year. The annual list, compiled by accountancy firm PwC, is published every year by The Journal and ranks the region’s largest companies by turnover.
