AMPS Awards 2023 gearing up to be a big spectacle in Birmingham

The annual AMPS (Association of Manufacturers and Suppliers of Power Generating Systems) Awards for Excellence 2023 is gearing up to be an event of spectacular proportions. Entries are now invited from AMPS member companies.

The National Motorcycle Museum in Solihull (Birmingham) is the selected venue for the night – taking place on Thursday 16th November 2023. Not only is it renowned for its historic collections, but it offers ease of access by both road and rail. With ample parking, a myriad of reasonably-priced local hotels, and even a casino nearby for those feeling lucky post-awards, the location couldn’t be better.

AMPS has secured exclusive access to the museum from 5.30 pm to 7.00 pm, offering a unique opportunity for attendees. Motorcycle enthusiasts might be keen to arrive early, seizing the chance to delve into the various motorcycle halls and take in the history.

However, for those whose primary interest lies in the evening’s main event, arriving at 7.00 pm for the drinks reception is a great option. The flexibility is there, catering to both avid motorcycle aficionados and those focused on the evening’s networking opportunities.

The Awards for Excellence evening will begin with the Sparkling Networking Drinks Reception in the museum (7.00 pm), followed by a grand dinner and the much-anticipated Awards for Excellence presentations in the Imperial Suite.

The association is also excited to reveal that Dominic Holland, now fondly recognised as Spiderman Tom Holland’s Dad, will be the host for the evening. With his stand-up comedy background, attendees are in for a treat filled with lots of laughs.

The value of engaging in the AMPS Awards

Entering the AMPS Awards is more than a contest; it’s a testament to a member’s dedication and expertise in the power-generating sector. As representatives of the UK’s premier diesel and gas-engine industry, participating in the awards elevates and accentuates the vital contributions each member brings to the table. Beyond the recognition, these awards significantly boost a company’s profile, drawing attention from peers, potential clients, and stakeholders.

In a sector that thrives on innovation and efficiency, an AMPS accolade amplifies a company’s commitment, further solidifying its role as a pivotal player in maintaining the UK’s leadership in global power generation.

David Oates, AMPS Director General, commented: “Entering the AMPS Awards is incredibly important; it’s an opportunity to shine a light on the outstanding work within our industry. I strongly encourage all our members to either enter or nominate a fellow member. With seven diverse categories to choose from, there’s a space for every achievement. This year, we’ve listened to our members and made the AMPS Awards bigger, better, and more accessible. The move to Birmingham, a fantastic host, and our enhanced award categories are all aimed at ensuring that this is an event that the Power Systems Industry will remember and be proud of.”

Judging these prestigious awards is an independent panel of seasoned industry experts. All entrants are reminded that the deadline is the 22nd of September.
