OJ Rådgivende Ingeniører in Denmark acquired by Sweco

Sweco announced acquisition of OJ Rådgivende Ingeniører, one of Denmark’s leading engineering firms in the buildings market.

With the acquisition Sweco will almost double the size of its building business in Denmark and strengthen its position as a top engineering and architecture firm in the country.

OJ Rådgivende Ingeniører A/S has both public and private clients in Denmark in the sectors of residential, healthcare, social housing, industry, offices, and education and had a turnover of approximately DKK 247 million in the most recent financial year.

Sweco Denmark had a turnover of approximately DKK 1.5 billion in 2022 and currently has around 1,500 employees.

“Sweco and OJ Rådgivende Ingeniører complement each other well, both in terms of expertise and corporate culture and in our vision to transform society in a sustainable direction together with our clients. OJ is a great match for Sweco and I am happy to extend a warm welcome to our new colleagues into our Danish organisation”, says Åsa Bergman, President and CEO of Sweco.

The acquisition of OJ Rådgivende Ingeniører is in line with Sweco’s acquisition strategy to grow the business by adding key competencies that complement Sweco’s 21 000 experts. By joining forces with OJ Rådgivende Ingeniører, Sweco will expand local presence in Denmark and strengthen the offering to clients.

This marks Sweco’s ninth acquisition in 2023 and will expand the Group’s market position as the European leader in engineering and architecture consultancy.

The acquisition is expected to be completed in Q4, pending approval from local competition authorities.
