VolvoCE boosts presence in Indonesia with PTBA-ITU Excavator deal
In a significant development in Indonesia’s construction and mining sectors, PT Indotruck Utama (ITU), the exclusive dealer for Volvo CE, has fortified its growing alliance with the state-owned enterprise, PT Bukit Asam (PTBA).
The deepening relationship can be attributed to the consistent performance and durability of the EC480DL and EC210D excavators that PTBA has leveraged over the last half-decade.
This past August, PTBA marked the addition of 21 new machines to its fleet with a commemorative ceremony held at the West Banko site, situated in Tanjung Enim District, Muara Enim Regency, South Sumatra. The bulk of this order comprised 19 crawler excavators, including 13 EC480DL models and 6 EC210D excavators.
In addition, PTBA diversified its equipment with two EW205D wheeled excavators.
The decision to place this extensive order is rooted in PTBA’s overwhelmingly positive experiences with the machines they previously acquired from ITU. In the past five years, PTBA integrated seven EC480DL and one EC210D excavators into their operations, all of which were sourced from ITU.
Adding to this fleet expansion, PTBA will also be welcoming 32 FMX440 trucks from Volvo Trucks, supplementing the 19 FMX400 construction trucks already under their banner.
Reflecting on this robust collaboration, Novandy Lantang, Volvo CE National Sales Manager at ITU, remarked: “In a relatively short time, PTBA has ascended to become one of our pivotal clientele. This grand order from PTBA is just a chapter in the success story of ITU in Indonesia. Recently, the firm executed the delivery of 10 EC480D and 12 EC210D excavators to a mineral mining venture in North Maluku.
