Unearthing new prospects at Kobo’s Kossou Gold Project

Unearthing new prospects at Kobo’s Kossou Gold Project

In the intricate world of mineral exploration, where the promise of golden fortunes often lies hidden beneath layers of earth and rock, Kobo Resources Inc. is making headlines.

The company has recently announced an exciting breakthrough in its quest for gold at the Kossou Gold Project in Cote d’Ivoire, one of West Africa’s most prolific gold districts, sending ripples of anticipation through the mining industry.

The Discovery at Road Cut Zone: A New Vein of Gold

Edward Gosselin, CEO and Director of Kobo, couldn’t mask his enthusiasm as he shared the latest findings from the Road Cut Zone (RCZ). “Our recent trenching has unveiled a high-grade zone of gold mineralisation, previously unnoticed, lying east of our primary target at RCZ,” he stated.

This revelation not only indicates potential for additional mineralisation zones parallel to the main RCZ target but also lends credence to the previously proposed Contact Zone Fault concept.

Exploration Triumphs: Jagger and Kadie Zones

Gosselin continued: “The positive results from Jagger and Kadie zones have been equally encouraging as we further our exploration pursuits.” The trenching efforts at these locations aimed to examine vein structures, based on recent structural interpretation studies, and the results have been nothing short of remarkable.

These findings bode well for the company’s impending diamond drilling program, set to commence early next year.

RCZ Trench Result Highlights

The trenching results at RCZ are particularly noteworthy:

  • KTR070: 4.44 g/t Au over 28 metres, including 6.54 g/t Au over 18 m
  • KTR069: 2.50 g/t Au over 6 m
  • KTR073: 2.03 g/t Au over 5 m

These results underscore a significant new discovery of high-grade gold mineralisation. The location of these trenches, on the eastern edge of a strong gold-in-soil geochemical anomaly, indicates a new zone of interest.

Structural Insights and Future Prospects

The gold mineralisation within these trenches aligns with a N-NW trending shear zone and cross-cutting W-NW and easterly striking quartz vein sets. This matches the structural controls observed in the Jagger and Kadie zones, painting a consistent regional picture that Kobo is keen to explore further.

Kadie Zone: A Gold Mine of Opportunities

The Kadie Zone has not been left behind in this exploration surge:

  • KTR063: 13.08 g/t Au over 4 m, including 50.70 g/t Au over 1 m
  • KTR065: 4.78 g/t Au over 7 m, including 21.70 g/t Au over 1 m
  • KTR064: 1.89 g/t Au over 16 m, including 2.64 g/t Au over 8 m

These impressive trench results from the Kadie Zone, which showcase high-grade quartz vein sets, reinforce the potential of this area. The company plans to include this zone in their upcoming drill program.

Jagger Zone: Continuing the Momentum

The Jagger Zone has also delivered promising results:

  • KTR062: 5.54 g/t Au over 2 m, including 9.99 g/t Au over 1 m
  • KTR067: 1.16 g/t Au over 7 m, and 2.58 g/t Au over 4 m, including 4.78 g/t Au over 2 m

These findings confirm significant gold grades east of the Jagger shear zone core, with several high-grade quartz veins cross-cutting the main shear zone. These results suggest that the zone remains open to further exploration to the north.
