Get ready to mark your calendars because Mobility Camp is making its much-anticipated return! That’s right, the volunteer-run ‘Unconference’ is back for its 7th year!

Mobility Camp is coming to York on Friday 20th September, and it’s set to be an incredible gathering of diverse individuals from planners and engineers to academics and activists or anyone interested in the built environment and how we navigate it. Whether you’re from the public or private sector, this is your chance to come together with like-minded people to exchange ideas, share knowledge, come up with solutions and make meaningful connections. And the best part? This is an ‘unconference,’ meaning that you have the power to shape the event. With the broad theme agreed upon in advance, attendees will have the opportunity to determine the specifics on the day. So, get ready to roll up your sleeves, get involved, and have fun at Mobility Camp!

So, in that case, what’s the theme? Well, we thought long and hard about a theme that would be challenging and topical and boiled it down to ‘Positive vibes’.

Transport has the ability to change the world, and transport professionals are changing the world. Life is full of bad news on the climate, politics, the economy, and how hard it is to change things. But there is a lot of good happening in the world being done by a lot of people, often in hard circumstances. It is time that we celebrated it and put the positive vibes back into transport.

This year at Mobility Camp, we want to recognise the power of positive vibes. It could be co-designing new active travel infrastructure with communities. Maybe it’s making behaviour change a good experience rather than a painful one. Perhaps putting a helpful hand on the shoulder of someone in need. Or maybe its realising that transport can do a lot to help save the world. Whatever it is, this year we will be putting the positive vibes back into the world, and you will come away with a smile on your face.

James Gleave, Mobility Camp founder, said: “Mobility Camp is a great opportunity to meet new people, increase your network, share your experience or views, and contribute to one of transports most challenging yet crucial conversations. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or new to the game, come join us for an unforgettable day of learning, collaboration, and Positive vibes!”.

So, don’t delay, register today at  Mobility Camp

We have an awesome and vastly experienced voluntary organising team, who come from leading organisations across the sector including TRL, Active Travel England, Mott Macdonald, Bath & North East Somerset Council, WSP and AtkinsRéalis. The Mobility Camp team are looking for volunteers to support the day and sponsors.
