PERI announces Mabey Hire Acquisition

Mabey Hire Ltd. has joined the PERI Group as of 21st May 2024, with PERI SE acquiring the Dewsbury, UK-based company.

The PERI Group, headquartered in Weissenhorn, Germany, is a family-owned enterprise. With around 9,000 employees, over 160 global locations, and a turnover of 1.9 billion EUR, PERI stands out as a leading global manufacturer of Formwork and Scaffolding Systems.

In the UK, Mabey Hire leads the market, offering solutions for infrastructure and refurbishment construction projects. Its portfolio encompasses ground shoring for excavations, propping and jacking for refurbishments, temporary bridges for site access, and sensors for monitoring construction phases. The company employs about 400 people across 16 UK locations.

The merger is a perfect match, with cultural synergies, a solid engineering reputation, and a clear market segment alignment. Mabey Hire will retain its management, brand, and name, continuing as an independent entity within PERI UK.

“Becoming part of the PERI Group is an excellent opportunity to better serve the needs of our customers and, with PERI UK, offer them the best service possible. Therefore, we already look forward to working together to expand the business by serving more customers in both the UK and internationally” said David Adams, CEO of Mabey Hire.

“Together, we will work to achieve cross-selling opportunities to offer our customers an even broader range of infrastructure and renovation products and continue the drive to always provide the best possible service to our customers”, adds Ian Hayes, Managing Director PERI UK.

“This acquisition marks an important milestone in our growth strategy to develop new market shares and areas in the civil engineering and renovation markets, especially in the UK but also internationally”, says Christian Schwörer, CEO PERI Group.
