UzXCMG celebrates a Decade of Innovation and 3,000 Machines Sold in Central Asia

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, UzXCMG—a joint venture between China’s Xuzhou Construction Machinery Group (XCMG) and Uzbekistan—reached an impressive milestone: the rollout of its 3,000th machine.

This celebration, held on October 21st, highlighted not just a decade of accomplishment but also marked new beginnings with announcements of expanded facilities, significant contracts, and training initiatives aimed at bolstering the region’s industrial landscape.

Since its founding in 2014, UzXCMG has been XCMG’s first manufacturing foothold in Central Asia, where it’s become an integral part of Uzbekistan’s infrastructure development. Over the years, the venture has delivered thousands of construction machines across mining, municipal engineering, and agriculture sectors, firmly rooting itself in the local economy. These machines don’t just power industries—they’re actively shaping Uzbekistan’s growth story, one excavator, loader, and truck at a time.

Expanding Operations with a New Customs Warehouse

At the heart of UzXCMG’s anniversary celebration was the inauguration of a new customs warehouse, a facility designed to improve logistics and reduce turnaround times for its machinery and parts. By bringing this logistics centre closer to the factory, UzXCMG is set to streamline operations and enhance its response time to customer needs—critical steps for supporting large-scale projects across Uzbekistan and Central Asia.

Alongside the warehouse unveiling, UzXCMG sealed a new agreement for 100 wheel excavators, destined to power urban construction and mining projects in Uzbekistan. This contract reflects the growing demand for advanced machinery and highlights the joint venture’s commitment to serving local infrastructure needs with modern solutions.

Building Local Talent and Strengthening Industry Ties

A decade into its journey, UzXCMG isn’t just focused on machinery—it’s also investing in people. As part of this broader vision, the company signed a cooperative agreement with Xuzhou Construction Machinery Technician College and regional representatives from Khwarezm. Together, they’ll establish the XCMG Modern Construction Equipment Industrial Academy, a pioneering institution aiming to close the skills gap in Uzbekistan’s construction sector.

The academy’s goal is to create a synergy between government, industry, and education, equipping local students with hands-on training on the latest construction equipment and methodologies. By fostering a skilled workforce locally, UzXCMG is not only filling an industry gap but also laying the groundwork for Uzbekistan to become a regional leader in industrial education.

Transforming Uzbekistan into a Production Hub

UzXCMG’s approach to localisation extends beyond economic and industrial impact—it’s about building a sustainable future for Central Asia. Yang Dongsheng, XCMG’s chairman, underscored the significance of this initiative, stating: “In Uzbekistan, For Uzbekistan.” This sentiment captures the company’s mission to create a production hub that will drive economic growth not only for Uzbekistan but also for the broader Central Asian market. With plans to further localise operations and deepen industry ties, Yang is optimistic about the next decade, envisioning UzXCMG as a catalyst for innovation and growth in the region.

Murodjon Achilov Azamatovich, the First Deputy Governor of Khorezm, applauded UzXCMG’s impact, noting: “Not only does UzXCMG provide us with advanced engineering machinery, but it also plays a crucial role in our economic growth through job creation and skill training programs.”

Such endorsements from local leadership highlight the deep-rooted partnership that UzXCMG has built in Uzbekistan—a partnership based on shared goals and mutual benefit.

A Lasting Foundation for Central Asia’s Future

As UzXCMG celebrates this milestone, the venture is laying a strong foundation for future growth. With 3,000 machines already shaping Uzbekistan’s infrastructure, a new academy to foster local talent, and a dedicated logistics centre to meet market demands, the joint venture’s commitment to the region’s development is clear.

For UzXCMG, the future looks bright, marked by a steadfast dedication to innovation, community, and sustainable industrial growth.
