In a sector notorious for razor-thin margins and outdated systems, boon has emerged as a beacon of innovation. The AI-powered workflow platform, purpose-built for commercial fleets, has secured $20.5 million in Series A funding.

Led by Marathon and Redpoint Ventures, this funding marks a pivotal moment in boon’s mission to double efficiency and profitability across supply chains and logistics operations.

The supply chain industry is the backbone of the global economy, yet it often lags in technological advancement. Boon’s AI platform seeks to change that narrative by automating time-consuming manual tasks, offering a unified system to enhance productivity and streamline operations. The company is already collaborating with dozens of clients, from food delivery services to freight operators ensuring holiday gifts arrive on time.

Deepti Yenireddy, founder and CEO of boon, encapsulates the vision succinctly: “Given the crucial nature of logistics, we are driven to lessen the workload of those who keep our country moving and to ensure that this industry can survive and thrive for generations to come.”

The Need for Innovation in Supply Chain Management

Supply chains form the “connective tissue” of economies, as Yenireddy puts it. Every physical product—from strawberries to smartphones—relies on intricate logistics networks. Yet, workers in this sector often juggle up to 20 different tech tools daily, a herculean task that leads to inefficiencies and burnout.

Boon’s platform addresses these challenges head-on. Its AI agents quickly learn workflows and take on repetitive tasks, enabling teams to focus on strategic initiatives. In doing so, boon not only enhances day-to-day operations but also safeguards the long-term sustainability of an industry under immense pressure.

What Sets boon Apart?

Boon’s unique selling point lies in its rapid adaptability and measurable impact. Within days of deployment, its AI agents mimic manual workflows and begin performing tasks autonomously. This approach saves fleets an average of $7-10 per truck per day—a significant margin in an industry where every penny counts.

Key features of boon’s platform include:

  • Fuel Optimisation: By analysing daily prices and routes, boon’s agents recommend the most cost-effective refuelling stops. For example, Double D Distribution saves up to $7.40 per truck per day with these insights.
  • Faster Billing Cycles: Automated submission of Bill of Lading (BOL) and Proof of Delivery (POD) documents expedites collections. JIT Transport reduced billing times from 14 days to just 2 days using boon’s solution.
  • Compliance Automation: Tasks like Hours of Service (HoS) submissions are streamlined, saving drivers hours each week. Double Diamond Transport alone saves 90+ minutes daily.

A Vision Backed by Industry Veterans

Boon’s team boasts expertise from leading organisations such as Apple, DoorDash, Google, Samsara, and Shell. This wealth of experience ensures the platform is both innovative and deeply attuned to industry needs.

Gokul Rajaram, a partner at Marathon, highlights boon’s customer-first ethos: “The boon team is driven entirely by the heroes they serve: the customers on the roads, in the warehouses, bringing the food we eat from the farms and factories to our tables. It’s incredibly important work, and boon’s smart solution will make a tangible difference in each person’s daily life—and on customers’ bottom lines.”

Scaling Up

With new funding in hand, boon plans to expand its engineering and go-to-market teams over the next 18 months. The company is actively seeking developers passionate about solving complex logistical challenges, such as retaining an ageing workforce and building agentic workflows that can adapt across industries.

The platform is already serving 33,000 drivers across 6,800 vehicles, handling 170,000 loads. But this is just the beginning. Boon aims to extend its capabilities into finance and payroll, doubling margins and unlocking unprecedented value for its clients.

The Broader Impact of AI in Logistics

Boon isn’t just about cutting costs—it’s about redefining the logistics landscape. Urvashi Barooah, a partner at Redpoint Ventures, underscores this transformative potential: “Through cutting-edge technology and a deep understanding of the space, Deepti and team are making it easy to offload work to their agent. We are incredibly proud to be part of a company adding critical dollars back to companies’ pockets and efficiency back to their employees.”

Looking ahead, boon aims to integrate advanced compliance, driver workflows, and payroll functionalities, creating a holistic solution that propels the industry into a more efficient and sustainable future.

Building a Smarter, More Sustainable Tomorrow

As supply chains grow increasingly complex, boon’s AI platform offers a much-needed lifeline. By automating tedious tasks and optimising operations, it empowers fleets to achieve up to 100 times greater efficiency—a bold but achievable goal.

“We don’t simply intend to enhance transportation—our solution will fundamentally redefine the future of the industry,” concludes Yenireddy. With a customer-centric approach and cutting-edge technology, boon is well-positioned to drive the logistics sector into a new era of innovation and resilience.
