Texas Welcomes ASI as Automation Leader Accelerates US Growth

Autonomous Solutions, Inc. (ASI), the globally recognised leader in industrial vehicle automation, has officially expanded its US operations into the heart of Texas. Marking the occasion with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on 30 July, ASI unveiled its brand-new facility in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area, staking a strong claim in one of America’s fastest-growing logistics and tech hubs.

This new location isn’t just a pin on the map. It’s a strategic investment in growth, innovation, and customer proximity. With its flagship Mobius® autonomous fleet management system already disrupting industries like heavy construction, agriculture, logistics, and mining, ASI’s move to Fort Worth sends a clear message: the future of off-road automation is here, and it’s accelerating.

Fort Worth follows Lehi launch

Hot on the heels of its Lehi, Utah expansion in June, the Fort Worth opening marks ASI’s third US location. This quick succession of new facilities underscores ASI’s aggressive growth strategy and its commitment to serving a rapidly expanding client base that’s grappling with labour shortages, rising operational costs, and ever-tightening safety standards.

According to ASI CEO Mel Torrie, the company’s mission resonates deeply in industries desperate for change. He explained during the ribbon-cutting event:

“Labour shortages are hitting hard across the industries ASI serves—especially in heavy construction and agriculture. In Japan, for instance, the average age of a wheel loader operator is 72. Younger generations aren’t interested in spending their days driving in circles. That’s where ASI steps in—by automating the wheel loader, we free up that young worker to pursue a higher-paying, more fulfilling skilled role.”

Torrie’s remarks also shed light on ASI’s internal culture:

“We apply that same philosophy internally at ASI. We don’t burn people out—we build them up. Our goal is to create a workplace where people would still choose to show up on Monday, even if they financially didn’t have to. Because when we treat each other well—especially when things go wrong—we perform better for our customers, our teams, and our future.”

A perfect fit for automation pioneers

Located at Hillwood Commons I, 9800 Hillwood Parkway, ASI’s Fort Worth facility sits at the core of AllianceTexas—a 27,000-acre master-planned mixed-use development. Home to a potent mix of high-tech offices, retail, healthcare, and luxury housing, AllianceTexas is a beacon of modern infrastructure and forward-thinking urban design.

Steve Aldrich, senior vice president at Hillwood, welcomed the company:

“We’re proud to welcome ASI to AllianceTexas, where innovation and infrastructure come together to accelerate growth. Their expansion into Fort Worth reflects the region’s momentum as a hub for advanced technology and logistics—and we’re excited to support their continued success.”

The location makes perfect sense. Fort Worth sits at the crossroads of technology and transport, providing ASI with critical access to clients and talent in a city with big plans for smart infrastructure.

Local support and a taste of Texas

The Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce welcomed ASI with open arms. Chamber representative Ben Robertson expressed enthusiasm for what ASI’s presence means for the local economy:

“It is the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce’s great pleasure to welcome this brand-new member to our community. We are so excited about what ASI is doing here. The Chamber is here to help ASI in any way to succeed and continue to bring opportunities for career and growth to Fort Worth.”

In true Texas style, the ribbon cutting was more than a photo op. The event spotlighted local businesses, with food from Fort Worth’s beloved Reata, staging courtesy of Rental Stops in Grand Prairie, and live music from saxophonist Sylvester Jones of Vintage Perspective Entertainment. It was a celebration of new beginnings, local flavour, and shared ambition.

Autonomous fleets for the real world

ASI’s proprietary Mobius® system is at the heart of the company’s value proposition. Built to turn any fleet—large or small—into a synchronised, autonomous powerhouse, Mobius delivers more than just automation. It offers real-time fleet control, advanced safety protocols, and seamless system integration, whether you’re operating in agriculture, mining, heavy construction, or logistics.

With safety and scalability at its core, Mobius isn’t just future-ready. It’s already solving today’s toughest operational challenges. From reducing human risk in hazardous environments to improving precision and cutting downtime, ASI’s tech is proving itself in the harshest and most demanding conditions.

Trusted by multiple Fortune 500 companies, ASI has carved out a reputation for turning what’s often seen as “dirty, dull, and dangerous” work into something sleek, smart, and sustainable.

From academic roots to global reach

It’s been quite a journey for ASI since its founding in 2000. Born out of research at Utah State University, the company has evolved from a tight-knit group of engineers into one of the world’s largest privately held robotics firms. Its sprawling 100-acre proving ground in Northern Utah serves as the company’s R&D and testing hub, where automation gets pushed to the limits.

The Lehi and Fort Worth expansions are just the beginning of a new chapter for the firm, as it gears up to meet the surging demand for off-road autonomy solutions in North America and beyond.

Looking ahead with purpose

With automation rapidly reshaping industrial landscapes, ASI’s investment in Texas is a confident stride into the future. As companies and governments seek smarter, safer, and more sustainable ways to work, ASI is standing ready at the frontier.

By building strong ties with local communities, investing in workplace culture, and continually pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in autonomous fleet technology, ASI is sending a clear signal: it’s not just leading the automation race, it’s helping shape the terrain ahead.
