Auto Bissinger strengthens fleet with new Tadano AC 4.100L-1 Crane
For Auto Bissinger, cranes and the Tadano name are practically inseparable. A glance at their fleet makes it clear why every single crane bears the Tadano badge. Their latest addition, the Tadano AC 4.100L-1, is yet another testament to the company’s unwavering trust in the brand.
Managing Director Jürgen Bissinger was unequivocal when collecting the new machine from Tadano’s Zweibrücken facility: “We’ve always been 100% happy with the cranes and service provided by Tadano, which is why we keep relying on them. Not to mention, of course, that this provides us with tremendous flexibility, since our crane operators can easily switch machines. And, of course, it also comes with advantages in regard to maintenance by our technicians.” The handover was conducted by Tadano Sales Manager Michael Zieger and his successor Stefan Oerter, who will soon oversee the southwest German region.
Technical edge for cost and performance
The AC 4.100L-1’s two-engine configuration was a decisive factor for Auto Bissinger. This design reduces fuel consumption and operating costs both on the road and on the job site. Jürgen Bissinger also pointed to the machine’s array of customisable features: “To provide our operators with the greatest possible comfort and maximum operating safety, we ordered the full camera package and the maximum number of floodlights with our AC 4.100L-1.”
Intelligent control for demanding jobs
Central to the crane’s appeal is Tadano’s IC-1 Plus control system, which ensures that the AC 4.100L-1 can always operate at its maximum safe lifting capacity, particularly during lifts over the outriggers. “This means that the crane is perfectly prepared for a market that is always demanding more and more,” Bissinger explained.
The crane’s long 60-metre boom and compact profile, just 2.55 metres wide and under four metres high, make it ideal for working in tight industrial spaces. These dimensions, combined with high-output floodlights and advanced camera systems, also prepare the unit for complex recovery operations in low-light conditions.
A family business with a broad service portfolio
Founded in 1963 and now in its third generation, Auto Bissinger employs more than 60 staff across its headquarters in Karlsruhe and six additional regional branches. The company’s services extend well beyond crane hire. They cover:
- Traffic safety operations
- Towing and recovery services
- Oil spill clean-up
- Industrial site work
- Special transportation and heavy haulage
- Lifting services up to 100 tonnes
Their vehicle fleet is equally diverse, ranging from transport trucks and tow trucks to mobile and all-terrain cranes, ensuring they can tackle a wide variety of industrial and infrastructure projects.
A global leader in lifting solutions
Since unveiling Japan’s first hydraulic truck crane in 1955, Tadano has grown into a global powerhouse in lifting and access equipment. The company’s approach is anchored in the principles of compliance, safety, quality, and efficiency (C+SQE), all of which are embedded into its product line.
Tadano’s cranes are valued across construction, energy, and industrial sectors for their reliability, technological innovation, and robust performance. Their global support network helps ensure that Tadano equipment delivers optimum results in diverse environments, meeting stringent demands for both efficiency and sustainability.

The company’s commitment to value creation for stakeholders drives its pursuit of excellence, ensuring that its equipment not only meets today’s requirements but is also ready for tomorrow’s challenges.
Raising the bar for fleet capabilities
For Auto Bissinger, the arrival of the Tadano AC 4.100L-1 isn’t just another fleet upgrade, it’s an investment in capability, versatility, and efficiency.
With its cutting-edge control systems, compact dimensions, and operator-focused features, this latest acquisition underscores the company’s determination to maintain its position as a leading service provider in Germany’s lifting and transport sector.
