Altec announces two new tank-track mounted Cranes for off-road lifting work

The new Altec AC40-152S and AC45-127S cranes deliver the superior performance of their chassis-mounted variants, but now paired with a tank-track machine base to allow customers to access hard-to-reach jobsites.

The new Prinoth T22 tracked base has many great features like the Tier 4 Final engine and straight-frame style carrier that, when paired with either the AC40 or AC45, increase jobsite versatility and productivity.

Altec LMAP (Load Moment and Area Protection) system

The new Altec LMAP system gives the operator intuitive information and menu navigation, making it one of the most convenient systems to use. While the intuitive display and user interface are unique to Altec, the system’s hardware consists of common “off-the-shelf” components that were critically selected for their performance and reliability. Altec was the first boom truck crane manufacturer to include operator defined audible alarm set points (Area Protection) as standard equipment within the Load Moment Indicator.

The crane image shown on the display provides information from system sensors while the bubble-level shows the angle of the swing bearing. The swing position is shown on the perimeter of the bubble-level while the swing angle is shown above the crane image. The second crane image shows information from system sensors in addition to user defined setup information. Boom angle and boom length are delivered by system sensors while load radius and sheave height are calculated by the system. Parts of line, boom configuration and winch selection are user defined. The system automatically selects the appropriate load chart based on the outrigger beam position sensors.
