Hitachi excavators make their mark in Denmark
Hitachi short-tail swing mini and medium excavators are relied upon by Danish contractor Allan Madsen of AM Entreprise ApS for completing groundworks, drainage and concrete work. He has been loyal to the Hitachi brand and the authorised dealer in Denmark, HP Entreprenørmaskiner A/S, for more than 12 years.
For a recent project, on the site of an old factory in the town of Haderslev, he used three Hitachi models to prepare an area for the construction of a new supermarket. These included a ZX130-3 and ZX65USB-5 with a selection of different attachments, and a new ZX135US-6. The project was completed on schedule in May 2017 after two months’ work.
The Zaxis-6 short-tail swing model was equipped with a tilt rotator, six LED lights, a grapple attachment, a 600mm clay bucket and a 1,600mm curved bucket. Its versatility was particularly beneficial for the contractor, which was instructed to remove the plantation and rubbish from the site.
Versatile equipment
“Danish-specification machines have to be versatile and operators highly skilled, so that we can carry out a wide range of jobs in the minimum amount of time,” says Allan. “This is due to the significant level of taxation and relatively high salaries in Denmark.”
In addition to versatility, Hitachi construction equipment offers several other advantages to Allan, who has tried many different types of machines over the past 32 years. “When I first tested a Hitachi excavator, I found it to be easy to use, and the hydraulic system was very smooth and precise – perfect for digging and levelling work. I have continued to find a low cost of ownership with Hitachi machines – and the ZX135US-6 has only reinforced this opinion.
“It feels like a good machine, with a smooth operation,” he continues. “It works well and I have an excellent view from the cab. If you drove it every day, you would be very proud to have such an impressive workplace.”
