Parsons wins design-build contract for Terminal One at Newark Airport

Parsons was recently awarded a design-build contract for the Terminal One Redevelopment Project at Newark Airport (Newark Liberty International Airport) by the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey (PANYNJ). The work will be performed in a fully integrated joint venture of Tutor Perini/Parsons (TPP Team).

The $1.41 billion project includes design and construction of a new 1 million-ft2, 33-gate common-use terminal building and ramp; a fully enclosed, elevated pedestrian walkway; the N60 bridge; and related infrastructure. Parsons will perform a dual role on the project, working with Tutor Perini on the construction of Terminal One, while also providing design services.

“PANYNJ’s Terminal One project represents Parsons’ first design-build joint venture in New Jersey, and we are excited and proud to bring our construction and design expertise to the table,” said Mike Johnson, Parsons Group President.

The new terminal will include dining, retail, and other amenities and is slated to be fully operational in 2022. The project will provide passengers with a world-class customer experience, create jobs, and boost the region’s economy.
