The Traffic Group Limited (TTG) – formerly AGD Group Limited – has today announced the acquisition of MAV Systems Limited (MAV).

MAV is a leading global supplier of ANPR cameras that has achieved continued success from its ability to meet specific partner requirements across multiple sectors. The acquisition by TTG – a privately owned group of traffic-focused companies that shares MAV’s innovative technical approach and a complementary customer base – will bring a more extensive range of traffic solutions under one banner.

One TTG company, AGD Systems, is already working with MAV in the supply of radar products to work alongside MAV’s IQ range of intelligent ANPR cameras, and the two companies are currently collaborating on a number of other synergistic solutions.

MAV has achieved excellent growth within the ITS, parking, policing and enforcement markets in the UK and internationally, and the TTG network of international channels in more than 60 countries will provide additional routes to market. MAV’s existing international partners will, in turn, benefit from a wider product portfolio from other TTG companies and have opportunities to cross-sell their unique market solutions into new regions.

The MAV roadmap for 2018 and beyond remains concentrated on the launch of new ANPR-based products that offer new features to its integration partners. As a product designer and manufacturer, MAV works with partners who can system-engineer and deploy the whole end-user solution. Commonly this will use the MAV IQ intelligent cameras as a core building block and edge-based intelligent sensor hub. This portfolio is now augmented by speed and distance measurement technologies from the TTG group that open new ITS and enforcement opportunities worldwide.

Steve Walker, co-founder and managing director of MAV, commented: “In joining forces with TTG we are already seeing opportunities to develop enhanced products for all our customers beyond those we originally foresaw. The depth of technical and market experience we now jointly possess is truly world-class and inspirational.”

Mike Hutchinson, chairman of The Traffic Group, added: “This acquisition comes at a very exciting time for us, with the formation of TTG to steer a group of strong companies – each a leader in its field – into a new phase of growth and expansion, with a product range that increasingly addresses the wider needs of the traffic market.”
