Eurovia Surfacing adds new BOMAG roller to its fleet

Eurovia Surfacing has added a new state-of-the-art roller that boasts some of the latest compaction technology to its fleet.

The new BOMAG BW174AP AM is among the first rollers equipped with the Asphalt Manager 2 compaction system to be introduced into the United Kingdom.

Asphalt Manager 2 measures and controls the compaction work on asphalt depending on variables such as the surface layer thickness and temperature, which makes the finished product more consistent.

The automatic exciter and split drum design prevents crushing and tearing of material and only delivers what is needed in terms of compaction effort.

The new roller has been fully branded in Eurovia Surfacing livery and will be used for the first time in Hertfordshire.

Paul Kidd, Eurovia Surfacing Divisional Manager, said: “The addition of the new BOMAG roller to our already extensive fleet of intelligent rollers allows operators to carry out effective compaction to specific levels, capture rolling pattern data and are more economical as fewer passes are required, which saves time and fuel.”
