Geprüfte Sicherheit certificate guarantee KITO product safety

The Geprüfte Sicherheit certificate (GS), which translates as “Tested Safety”  has been recognized worldwide as a safety mark. Consumers and users have trusted the logo for years and know that it guarantees absolute safety.

The GS mark is only given to manufacturers who voluntarily pass quality control standards and meet the legal requirements of the German Product Safety Act.

KITO CB and KITO CX hand chain blocks and KITO LB and KITO LX lever hoists have been awarded the GS mark “Tested Safety” by the German Statutory Accident Insurance (DGUV) since 2007. This is unique in the industry.

 Guaranteed safety

Product safety is KITO’s top priority. All hoists are developed to the highest standards and go through several internal safety tests during production. But that’s not all: KITO also has its manual hoists tested by an independent organization to guarantee excellent quality and is the only manufacturer that lists products with the GS mark.

To get the DGUV GS mark, the German law prescribes a detailed inspection of the products. The testing process is over-correct: both the product itself is analyzed and the manufacturing process is also checked. If both pass the procedure, the GS safety certificate is issued for 5 years.

Even during the validity period, random checks are carried out every year. This ensures that really every product in a series complies with the legal guidelines and that updated product standards are implemented immediately.

The GS mark is a competitive advantage for KITO manual chain hoists

KITO manual chain hoists LB, LX, CX and CB have been certified with the leading safety mark in Germany by a neutral organization. This means: there is no risk for the health and the safety of the user when the hoists are used properly.

“We are proud that we regularly receive the GS mark for selected products. This is another safety proof of our compact manual chain hoists. We always attach importance to the reliability and easy handling of our products. If the highest level of safety is confirmed by independent experts… this is the ultimate achievement!”  says Martin Rothe, General Manager at KITO EUROPE.

If a product is relaunched or the validity period expires, it has to be tested again. KITO manual chain hoists have been meeting the strict requirements of the machinery directive 2006/42/EC, product standard EN 13157 and the Product Safety Act for several test intervals.

Full protection for the user

When users think of product safety they often think of reliable functionality. But “Tested Safety” according to the GS standards means much more. The GS mark does not only guarantee mechanical product safety but also protection against bad ergonomic conditions, disturbing noises or unhealthy substances such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH).
