B2W Estimating and Operations Software now available to College Construction Programs

B2W Software, a leading provider of heavy construction management software, is extending its B2W College Program for the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters. Colleges and universities that contact B2W by July 30, 2021 are eligible to install the company’s software free of charge.

B2W provides software, training and support for dozens of higher education schools throughout North America. The company’s applications are used within courses on estimating, construction management, construction technology, civil engineering, construction science and related fields.

“Attracting and training talent remains a critical challenge for the heavy construction sector,” according to Dave Flynn, CFO and executive vice president at B2W Software. “Our College Program puts advanced construction software in the hands of students and professors to give tomorrow’s professionals a head-start on future success.”

“Hands-on experience with a leading software program that the industry uses is vitally important,” says Steve Muench, a professor at the University of Washington. Muench has used B2W Estimate for more than 10 years in the Construction Engineering course he teaches for juniors at the school.

“The software gives students a realistic understanding of how the estimating process works and how labour, materials and equipment details break down and impact the bid; things they would not get by just reading or studying in theory.”

B2W Estimate – a comprehensive solution for heavy construction estimating and bidding – is the most common B2W application installed by colleges and universities. B2W also makes its specialized applications for resource scheduling and dispatching, job performance tracking and reporting, and equipment maintenance available to these institutions.

“One thing students really appreciate in a college course is the opportunity to learn an actual skill; and using B2W’s software is a great skill for them to learn,” Muench added. “They learn estimating in a realistic manner, and it gives them a valuable bullet point on their resume that really resonates with potential employers.”
