With a bid of SEK 357,000 (€34,930), Ramirent AB, a leading rental company, was the winner in a charity auction for the first Bobcat L28 small articulated loader (SAL) in Sweden.

The auction took place on the Klaravik platform to raise funds for the AjaBajaCancer foundation and the production of Minutdagen (Minuteday) – a unique summer event for children with cancer. It was jointly organised by AjaBajaCancer, Minutdagen and Kristianstad-based Bobcat Sverige AB, the exclusive dealer for the Bobcat range in Sweden.

Minutdagen – Enjoy Every Minute!

Ramirent was delighted to be presented with the new L28 at this year’s Minutdagen event, which took place at Bromma Stockholm Airport on 21 August 2021. Minutdagen provides children with the opportunity to experience something exciting and to help the entire family forget their struggles for a day. This year’s event was filled with more flights than ever on airplanes and helicopters, good food, live music and various other exciting experiences and activities.

Ellinor Stattin from AjaBajaCancer, a non-profit association started by two mothers of children with cancer, said: “The generosity of Bobcat Sverige and the winning bidder, Ramirent, allowed us to make the Minutdagen event even more amazing this year. The positive feedback we have received from both big and small participants of Minutdagen is incredible and we are really touched by the support.”

Johan Lagerqvist, creator and initiator for Minutdagen, said: “Minutdagen was created because I felt as a full-time pilot the urge to do something here and now. I wanted to create memories and extend a helping hand to those who need it the most. This year’s event was the best ever, giving all the families and children something to truly smile, laugh and be happy about.”

Proud Owner of a Very Special Machine

Ramirent (www.ramirent.com) is now the proud owner of a very special machine. In donating the L28 SAL for the auction, Bobcat Sverige gave it a ‘special’ new coat of paint for the event, adorning the machine with children’s drawings specially created for the occasion.

Marcus Andersson, Marketing Manager at Bobcat Sverige, said: “We are delighted with the success of the charity auction and the money it has raised to help support AjaBajaCancer and their outstanding commitment to sick children and the wonderful Minutdagen event. This year, we decided to make it a bit special by putting an entire machine up for auction and customising it with cute art made by children. Ramirent now has a truly one-of-a-kind piece of equipment – made even more exclusive by the fact it was the first of its kind in Europe.”

Eric Nordin, Business Development Manager at Ramirent AB, said: “Entering the charity auction was a no-brainer for us. It just felt right – we wanted to be involved and contribute to something we believe in, and where we can make a difference. Hopefully we have with our winning bid and the machine itself will be of great benefit to us and our customers. Bobcat machines have been a key part of our rental services for many years and the new L28 is a striking addition to our rental fleet.”
