GSSI training for GPR equipment in the field now offered in-person and online

GSSI, the world’s leading manufacturer of ground penetrating radar (GPR) equipment, offers a comprehensive training program on how to use GSSI equipment safely and effectively in the field. More than a hundred in-person classes will be held in 2022.

Training is conducted by the GSSI Academy, a team of four full time trainers with 50 years of experience in GPR. In-person classes are held at GSSI’s headquarters in Nashua, NH and the West Coast training classes are held in Henderson, NV.

Registration is now open for classes from January to June 2022.

In-person classes are conducted in dedicated classrooms equipped with computers for student use. The Nashua, NH training location has specific hands-on areas, including a specialized concrete forms room, and a first-in-the-industry 760 square foot indoor utility pit. The classes, which run from one to two days, are provided complimentary for those purchasing a major system during the initial two-year warranty period.

The training classes are also open to people who are looking to get into GPR and haven’t made a purchase yet or people who are outside of the warranty period for a fee. The GSSI Academy also offers webinars for people who feel more comfortable with that set up.

GSSI offers both introductory and advanced training courses. Introductory classes assume no prior knowledge of GPR. Advanced classes, which assume prior attendance of an intro class or working experience with the technology, are appropriate for users looking to branch out to new applications. Every training class will start with an overview of the theory of GPR and then a hands-on portion with the specific system the class is for. GSSI provides the most training classes in the world from a GPR manufacturer.

The class schedule is posted on the GSSI website, so students can view the class offerings and figure out which date works best for them. The only way to submit a request for training is to fill out the training request form and email it to the training department. The classes that are being offered in the first half of 2022 are; UtilityScan®, StructureScan™ Mini XT, RADAN® 7, StructureScan™ Pro: SIR 4000, UtilityScan Pro: SIR 4000, and 200 HS – GS System. The RADAN® 7 has moved to be 100% virtual and this course is three days long. Specialized training classes are offered for archaeology and transportation applications.

If you’re planning on attending the World of Concrete (WOC) trade show in Las Vegas in January and have been thinking about taking a training class, why not take the opportunity to combine both into your trip. There will be four training classes during the week of WOC and spots are already filling up.
