Trimble revolutionising Compact Track Loaders with Siteworks Machine Guidance

Trimble has introduced a game-changer in compact track loader operation with its latest offering: the Trimble Siteworks Machine Guidance Module for compact track loaders. Extending the robust functionality of Siteworks—originally launched for excavators in 2023—this innovative guidance module opens up a new level of precision and efficiency in grading, layout, and levelling tasks.

Lauded for transforming excavator operations, the Siteworks Machine Guidance Module’s expansion to compact track loaders brings with it unparalleled adaptability and ease of use, catering specifically to the growing needs of contractors worldwide.

Expanding Siteworks’ Reach

Initially developed for excavators, Trimble’s Siteworks system quickly earned praise as a comprehensive solution for machine guidance and operator assistance. The latest module release means contractors can now harness this technology on compact track loaders, bringing critical capabilities to this versatile and widely-used equipment.

“The Siteworks Machine Guidance Module has been popular since the day we introduced it because it gives operators a simple, high-value, one-stop-shop for both survey and grade control,” explains Elwyn McLachlan, Vice President of Civil Solutions at Trimble. “We’re excited to announce support for compact track loaders, furthering the versatility of this machine type.”

This advanced solution streamlines various tasks that would typically require additional attachments like grading or box blades, empowering operators to tackle projects with just the compact loader bucket.

Key Features of Siteworks Machine Guidance for Compact Track Loaders

For contractors, efficiency and precision are paramount, and the Siteworks Machine Guidance Module for compact track loaders is designed to deliver both. With this all-in-one system, operators can move seamlessly between tasks and job sites, maximising productivity while leveraging their existing equipment.

Key features of the Trimble Siteworks Machine Guidance Module include:

  • Compact Track Loader Compatibility: Tailored for compact track loaders, this is Trimble’s first guidance module specifically for this equipment.
  • SPS986 or R780 GNSS Smart Antenna with Tilt Compensation: Ensures precision even on uneven terrain, enhancing grading accuracy and layout precision.
  • ProPointⓇ Positioning Engine: Provides enhanced satellite positioning, critical for remote sites or environments without traditional network connectivity.
  • Flexible Bring-Your-Own Device or Trimble Field Tablet Compatibility: Allows contractors to use their devices or Trimble tablets with Siteworks software, ensuring easy data access on and off the machine.

Enhancing Productivity and Precision

One of the standout aspects of the Siteworks Machine Guidance system is its flexibility. The module is designed to transition between different machinery, empowering contractors to use the system off-machine for design and measurement, then transfer it to a compact track loader for on-machine guidance.

This flexibility greatly reduces the need for on-site surveyors while ensuring project designs are executed with high accuracy. Compact loaders, paired with the GNSS receiver and a compatible tablet, enable operators to access precise 3D machine guidance and grade checking capabilities directly in-cab.

For those working on complex sites, the Trimble ProPointⓇ positioning engine is an invaluable addition, enhancing data accuracy even in locations where satellite visibility may be obstructed.

Connectivity and Mobility

In an increasingly digital construction landscape, connectivity is a must. Trimble’s Siteworks Machine Guidance system integrates seamlessly with Trimble WorksManager Software, allowing real-time sharing of project designs and data, remote support, and swift progress updates.

Adding to this is Trimble’s CenterPoint® RTX correction service, which delivers sub-centimetre accuracy via satellite or cellular/IP, removing the need for local base stations or VRS networks. This functionality is particularly valuable for contractors operating in remote locations or across multiple sites, where maintaining high accuracy without a local base station was previously a significant challenge.

With these technologies, contractors can maintain real-time connectivity, keeping projects on track and enabling faster decision-making in the field.

Available Worldwide Through SITECH Distribution

The rollout of the Siteworks Machine Guidance system for compact track loaders is set to reach contractors globally through the SITECH distribution channel, which provides regional support and expertise. For those interested in seeing the technology in action, Trimble will showcase this cutting-edge solution at the Trimble Dimensions User Conference in Las Vegas from November 11-13.

Trimble’s expansion of Siteworks Machine Guidance to compact track loaders signifies the company’s commitment to delivering industry-leading solutions for construction professionals. By equipping compact loaders with precision guidance and real-time connectivity, Trimble enables operators to increase efficiency, cut project timelines, and reduce costs.
