They’ve unlocked agility, shaving days off delivery schedules and optimising every stage of the workflow.

Welding robots now handle fabrication duties with vision sensors on the body welding lines, enhancing both output and precision. Automated guided vehicles (AGVs) glide through the facility with uncanny accuracy, and AI-based inspection tools keep a sharp eye on quality.

Productivity Gets a High-Tech Boost

It’s not just about gadgets and tech for tech’s sake. The results are already turning heads:

  • Labour productivity has soared by over 20%
  • Machine assembly time has plummeted by up to 35%
  • Annual production capacity is up 56%, jumping from 9,600 to an eye-popping 15,000 units

Ulsan’s shiny new setup has already proven its mettle. The factory has delivered several flagship machines, including a 40-tonne Next Generation crawler excavator unveiled at the Bauma exhibition in Munich. Alongside it, a mammoth 125-tonne excavator and hefty 35-tonne wheel loaders have also begun their journeys to dealerships worldwide.

CEO Choi Cheol-gon summed it up best: “The Ulsan Campus has been transformed into a smart factory, significantly improving its quality competitiveness. We are dedicated to providing top-tier products that will lead the construction machinery sector, including our Next Generation models.”
