Trimble and Hyundai Launch Factory-Ready HD130A Dozer with 3D Grade Control
Trimble and Hyundai Construction Equipment have taken a significant step in merging digital precision with heavy-duty performance. The new Hyundai HD130A bulldozer line is now available in a Trimble Ready configuration straight from the factory, enabling seamless integration of Trimble’s Earthworks 3D grade control platform.
Initially launched in North America in late 2024, this option is now available globally, giving contractors an instant pathway to advanced machine control.
Rather than waiting for aftermarket installation, customers can now receive their HD130A machines – in both XL and LGP variants – pre-fitted with a Trimble Ready kit. This streamlines deployment, reduces downtime, and gets the machine working productively on site from day one.
Precision in the Cab
At the heart of this partnership is the Trimble Earthworks platform, which puts the project design directly in the cab. The system automatically adjusts the dozer’s blade to match design specifications, allowing operators – regardless of skill level – to work faster, with greater accuracy and consistency.
Scott Crozier, vice president of civil construction field systems at Trimble, emphasised the benefits: “The Trimble Ready Hyundai HD130A bulldozer is another way earthmoving contractors can seamlessly connect their digital and physical worlds. On this dozer model in particular, Trimble technology is integrated on-machine to simplify installation and maximise productivity for Hyundai customers, helping them accelerate their return on investment.”
This integration means less time spent setting up and more time moving earth, with fewer passes and reduced rework.
Built for Smarter Jobsites
Beyond the ready-to-install hardware, Trimble and Hyundai are collaborating on operator assist features and increasing cloud-based collaboration tools. These advancements are designed to ensure that dozers like the HD130A aren’t just powerful, but also intelligent and connected.
Gert Peeters, product manager at Hyundai Construction Equipment Europe, noted: “The Trimble Ready HD130A dozers represent a further step forward in delivering intelligent, high-performance machines to our customers. Working with Trimble enhances our ability to offer precision and productivity straight from the factory. We’re excited to deepen our relationship with Trimble as we continue to innovate together. This collaboration is key to bringing smarter, more connected solutions to the jobsite.”
This focus on connectivity reflects the broader industry trend toward integrated workflows, where data flows seamlessly between design offices, cloud platforms, and the machines themselves.
Flexible 3D Control Options
The Trimble Earthworks system on the HD130A supports a variety of sensor configurations, catering to different site requirements:
- Dual GNSS + cross slope (cab mount)
- UTS + cross slope (blade mount)
- GNSS (single) + cross slope (blade mount)
- Dual laser + cross slope (blade mount)
- Single laser + cross slope (blade mount)
This flexibility ensures the system can adapt to the challenges of diverse project environments, from complex urban sites to large-scale infrastructure works.
Local Support and Training
Backing up the technology is Trimble’s SITECH dealer network and authorised resellers. They provide not just installation services but also personalised training and ongoing technical support. This ensures operators and contractors can get the most from the equipment and software from day one.
The importance of local support shouldn’t be underestimated – complex machine control systems require both expert installation and the ability to troubleshoot quickly if issues arise.
Availability and Global Reach
The Trimble Earthworks 3D grade control option for Hyundai HD130A bulldozers is now available to international customers via SITECH dealers and select authorised resellers. With Hyundai’s extensive dealer network spanning more than 30 countries, access to these advanced machines is both broad and growing.
Hyundai Construction Equipment Europe continues to strengthen its position in the market, leveraging factory automation, strict quality control, and innovative engineering. Alongside excavators and wheel loaders, the company’s material handling division offers forklifts and warehouse equipment tailored to evolving market needs.
No Longer Optional Extras
Factory-ready machine control represents a shift in how contractors approach technology adoption. By delivering machines pre-equipped for integration, OEMs like Hyundai remove a traditional barrier – the time and cost of retrofitting. This accelerates the adoption of precision technology, helping contractors tackle projects more efficiently.
In an era where construction productivity is under constant pressure, tools like Trimble Earthworks are no longer optional extras – they’re fast becoming standard expectations. From reducing fuel consumption to minimising material waste, these systems contribute directly to improved profitability and sustainability.
Driving Productivity and Sustainability
The HD130A’s Trimble Ready configuration supports broader industry goals beyond speed and accuracy. Precise grading means less rework, which reduces fuel usage and equipment wear. This in turn supports contractors’ sustainability targets and environmental compliance, while also lowering operating costs.
With the global construction industry increasingly measured on both output and environmental impact, such solutions offer a competitive edge.
The Road Ahead
Trimble’s broader mission is to connect the physical and digital worlds. Its innovations in precise positioning, modelling, and data analytics span construction, geospatial, and transportation industries. Meanwhile, Hyundai’s growing portfolio and dealer reach ensure these technologies can be deployed at scale.
The HD130A launch marks more than just another model release – it’s a signpost toward a more connected, efficient, and sustainable jobsite.
