Realbot Embodied Intelligence a Milestone for Teleoperated Robotics

RealMan Robotics has taken a decisive step forward in embodied artificial intelligence with the unveiling of its RealBOT Embodied Open Platform at the IEEE and RSJ International Conference on Intelligent Robots and Systems 2025. The company staged a successful cross-regional teleoperation demonstration between Beijing and Hangzhou, two cities separated by roughly 1,200 kilometres, highlighting rapid progress in real-time robotic collaboration.

The two-city link connected the Beijing Humanoid Robotics Data Training Center with the RealMan booth at the exhibition venue in Hangzhou. During the demonstration, a RealMan trainer based in Beijing remotely controlled humanoid robots at the booth. Tasks such as handing over a towel and passing pieces of fruit illustrated how RealBOT enables precise, dynamic and human-centred manipulation.

Accelerating Embodied AI Research And Development

RealBOT has been created as a fully featured open platform that supports the rapid development, testing and validation of embodied AI technologies. It brings motion control, multimodal perception and precise manipulation into a single environment designed for researchers, developers and industry partners.

A key strength of the platform lies in its foundation of high-quality data. RealMan has already collected more than one million multimodal data samples across ten real-world application scenarios at its Data Training Center. These datasets support more accurate model development and quicker deployment across a wide range of industries.

Core Technical Capabilities

RealBOT incorporates several technical features intended to boost usability, flexibility and system robustness. These include:

  • Full-stack in-house development that gives RealMan complete control over its actuator and control technologies. This approach improves reliability and optimises performance.
  • Flexible compute options compatible with NVIDIA Jetson Orin and Digua RDK S100, allowing researchers to select the compute environment that best suits their workload.
  • A comprehensive approach to perception through multisensor data fusion, integrating depth and wide-angle cameras, LiDAR, IMU and microphone arrays.
  • A compact structure designed for operation in confined spaces without compromising stability or accuracy.
  • Twenty-one active degrees of freedom that support dexterous hands, adaptive grippers and advanced manipulation tasks.
  • An open ecosystem compatible with various mainstream gripper models, vision systems and external robotics tools.

Its lightweight design allows RealBOT to support scalable humanoid systems capable of generating large volumes of high-quality data. The platform is already being positioned for use in settings as diverse as home assistance, logistics, manufacturing lines and customer-facing service environments.

Building A Global Hub For Embodied Intelligence

RealMan has established the Beijing Humanoid Robotics Data Training Center as a central hub for large-scale dataset generation. The facility uses more than 100 robots working across ten realistic environments to collect high-frequency multimodal datasets. These datasets feed directly into RealBOT and are shared with international partners to promote open and collaborative AI research.

This approach strengthens the wider ecosystem surrounding embodied intelligence. RealMan is developing its hardware, software and AI frameworks to allow robots to operate alongside people in a growing range of industries, helping the sector move beyond lab conditions and into everyday commercial deployments.
