SWARCO leads the way in Tour de Yorkshire
SWARCO Traffic is helping local authorities during the Tour de Yorkshire 2018 with its innovative mobile Variable Message Signs (VMS).
The mobile VMS incorporates SWARCO Traffic’s proven, state-of-the art LED technology with a high contrast ratio, wide viewing angle and excellent character uniformity. Operating from a very low current, the LEDs – which also feature SWARCO’s patented colour-mixing lens – have higher levels of reliability and performance while consuming less power.
The signs will be in place throughout the course to assist riders and warn the public of road closures and disruptions.
Tour de Yorkshire 2018 takes place between the Thursday 3 May and Sunday 6 May, with the first stage beginning in Beverley and finishing in Doncaster. The final stage of the race finishes in Leeds.
The Tour de Yorkshire 2018 is a road cycling race held in Yorkshire, England. The race is backed by the Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) and rated a 2.1 event in the UCI Europe Tour. Originally a 3 day race, this year it has been expanded to 4 days. The original idea for the race was a legacy event after the popularity of the 2014 Tour de France through the area.
