Lidar specialist XenomatiX launches 6D Road Scanning

For many years, XenomatiX has been providing road mapping and road scanning services to private sector companies in Belgium, where the company is based as well as around the globe.

New for 2020, XenomatiX is launching 6D Road Scanning and is offering their services directly to road management stakeholders, allowing significant time and cost-savings to effectively analyse the road’s surface for cracks, waviness, rutting, potholes and other damages and to determine if and when road maintenance or repair is required.

By using true solid state lidar technology to acquire and analyse high-precision and reliable pavement condition data for any road type, including highways, off-road, cobble stone, etc., Xenomatix can offer a truly unique service to the international highways industry.

The XenomatiX Road Scanning lidar sensor is mounted on top of a regular vehicle and digitizes the road surface, collecting 3D point clouds, surface reflectivity data, and camera images, all annotated with detailed GPS data (six-dimensional data).

The datasets collected can be delivered as raw data, or can be analysed by XenomatiX road engineering experts using their advanced 4D or 6D AI algorithms. Generic Road Data is available off-the-shelf in various formats and different road data profiles are available to choose from. These files can then be used for comfort and safety simulations or for proprietary software development.

The company’s next generation LiDAR solutions provide unequalled object detection and tracking, free space detection, road profile measurement and localization capabilities, based on their reliable and proven technology.

XenomatiX constantly improves and invests in its technology to meet the needs of automotive OEMs, Tier 1 manufacturers and integrators and stay ahead of market evolutions and industry requirements.
