B2W Software, a Trimble company providing estimating and operations software for heavy construction, has earned a 2023 Constructech Top Products award for its B2W Employee App.

Designed for time and performance tracking, the B2W Employee App, introduced in 2022, allows individual employees to record labour hours, productivity, equipment utilization and other information via daily work logs on mobile phones or tablets.

The application is beneficial to contractors with truck drivers, equipment operators, plant personnel and other employees that work independent of crews and supervisors on job sites.

An independent panel of industry analysts and experts voted to determine which nominated products qualified for this year’s Constructech Top Products. Judges considered the backbone and core functionality of each platform as well as new functionality that will allow contractors to develop strategies around technology. Criteria included innovative design, cutting-edge technology and product differentiation. Many companies applied for the award, but not all earned the distinction.

“The 2023 Constructech Top Products can help improve efficiencies, minimize rework, reduce tedious and manual tasks, heighten safety, and ultimately improve the bottom line,” says Peggy Smedley, editorial director of Constructech magazine, and president of Specialty Publishing Media.

Data from individual B2W work logs can be combined with similar data from crew-based employees collected with B2W Track electronic field logs. The unified approach provides comprehensive daily reporting on job status. B2W work and field logs can also transfer labour hours directly to payroll systems, eliminating lag time and redundant data entry.

Employees can record labour and equipment hours along with the associated projects and tracking accounts using the B2W Employee App. Customizable fields can be created to collect additional information.

Administrators and supervisors review, approve and analyse hours and transfer data directly to accounting systems for payroll processing. Employees use the application in a real-time, online mode. They can also create and modify work logs offline and send them to a server when a connection is established.
