Tadano and Vestas developing Wind Turbine Nacelle Cranes
Tadano has announced a new global collaboration with Vestas, the Danish wind power manufacturer holding the world’s top market share, to develop and sell wind turbine nacelle cranes.
We aim to contribute to the offshore wind power generation sector, which is also being promoted by the Japanese government, through our product line-up, and we strive to achieve carbon net zero by 2050. With the cooperation of MHI Vestas Japan Co., Ltd., Tadano has agreed with Vestas to engage in a global collaboration to develop and sell nacelle cranes designed for Vestas’ new V236 offshore wind turbines.
Although the specifications of the nacelle crane and other detailed information will not be disclosed at this time, the cranes will require high durability and maintainability against strong offshore winds and high salinity. We believe that by leveraging our strengths and long history as a crane manufacturer, we can contribute to the spread of offshore wind power generation, which is one of the important energy policies of the Japanese government.
Based on our Corporate Philosophy of “Creation, Contribution, and Cooperation.” Tadano Ltd. aims to pursue further excellence for the world and the future by maximizing corporate value and conducting sustainable business activities, thereby contributing to the conservation of the global environment and the realization of a sustainable society. In the Mid-Term Management Plan (2024-2026), Tadano has set “Advancing Decarbonization” as a key driver in our company’s growth strategy. Under the banner of “Tadano Green Solutions,” we are developing a variety of environmentally friendly products.
This collaboration with Vestas, the world’s leading wind power manufacturer, will bring great value to our company, and we hope that our contributions to the offshore wind power field through our products will expand even further, not only in Japan but also worldwide.
