Certified Rebuild VolvoCE A60H Hauler starts work in Indonesia
VolvoCE dealer for Indonesia, PT Indotruck Utama (ITU), completed a handover ceremony for the first A60H machine using Volvo’s Certified Rebuild Machine (VCRM) services.
This follows the successful delivery of 54 VCRM units of A35E/F in 2023.
The VCRM project for the A60H unit was completed at the Palembang branch of the PT Indotruck Utama (ITU) workshop. Customer, PT. Wahana Bandhawa Kencana entrusted PT Indotruck Utama with 5 A60H units for VCRM works, highlighting their trust in the dealer’s capabilities to successfully carry out the machine rebuild.
Achieving VCRM certification for its Palembang facility in early 2023, PT Indotruck took a significant step towards its circular economy ambitions for construction equipment. This milestone heralded a new chapter for equipment ownership and lifecycle in Indonesia, allowing Volvo CE and PT Indotruck to reduce their consumption of energy and resources.
Hendro Sugito, Head of Aftermarket , PT Indotruck Utama (ITU), said: “The VCRM program aligns with our sustainability ambitions and as a Volvo CE dealer, we are committed to increasing the number of rebuilt units.
“From a business perspective, the VCRM project also helps with the growth of our aftermarket business, helps our customers save on the cost of purchasing new units, while also maintaining the performance of the machine rebuilds.”
Gerard Lim, Head of Uptime and Parts, Region Asia, Volvo Construction Equipment, said: “Central to Volvo CE’s sustainability strategy is a strong emphasis on resources, adopting a ‘reuse, reduce, remanufacture, and recycle’ methodology.
“The Volvo Group has set a goal to expand its remanufacturing business by 60% between 2018 and 2025. With Indonesia’s growing emphasis on sustainability and the circular economy, and the evident productivity and profitability benefits for customers such as PT Indotruck, now is an ideal time to explore manufacturer-approved remanufacturing for Volvo CE machines.”
