Daimler Truck UK Expands SW Reach with Strategic Euro Commercials Acquisitions

In a bold move to fortify its dealer network and bolster customer service coverage across the South West of England, Daimler Truck UK has greenlit a pivotal expansion. The acquisition of City West Commercials by Euro Commercials isn’t just a handover of assets – it’s a statement of intent.

With this cross-border deal now signed and sealed, Euro Commercials officially takes the reins of City West Commercials’ trio of sites in Avonmouth, Exeter, and Highbridge. These will soon carry the Euro Commercials name, joining the company’s existing flagship facilities in Cardiff, Newport, and Swansea, all of which have underpinned its sterling reputation over the last four decades.

For Daimler Truck UK, the move ensures a seamless transition for customers and signals a renewed push to future-proof its dealership network with partners aligned in ethos, energy, and vision.

Continuity Backed by Commitment

Operations under the Euro Commercials brand at the newly acquired sites will largely continue as before, ensuring minimal disruption for customers during the handover. Yet, there’s one notable change: the Roche site in Cornwall, previously operated by City West Commercials, has officially closed its doors as of 30th May.

But hold the panic. In its place, ETS Truck & Van has stepped up as a trusted service provider in Cornwall. Their Redruth facility will help pick up the slack, while Daimler Truck UK’s Mobile Technician Concept adds on-the-ground flexibility. And yes, customers can breathe easy knowing that 24/7 Service24h breakdown support and genuine Mercedes-Benz parts and oils will remain available throughout Devon and Cornwall.

Keeping the Wheels Turning

Even as the geographical map shifts, Daimler Truck UK is adamant about one thing: service continuity. The transition isn’t just about dots on a map; it’s about making sure drivers and fleet managers never feel left in the lurch.

“We are focused on delivering a higher standard of support for our customers in the South West,” said Leonhard Niemann, Head of Network Development and Training at Daimler Truck UK. “The Roche closure will be seamlessly covered by our trusted partner ETS Truck & Van, which will continue to provide workshop and mobile technician support.”

Meanwhile, the Mercedes-Benz Trucks Exeter site is picking up the baton for breakdown services across Devon and Cornwall, ensuring no roadside call goes unanswered.

A Vision Aligned for the Long Haul

Heiko Selzam, Managing Director at Daimler Truck UK, hailed the deal as a defining step towards a more agile and robust network: “The outstanding efforts of the Euro Commercials team in transforming its business into a high-performing operation, along with their strong organic growth in Wales, align seamlessly with our vision to evolve the Dealer network into a model that is both sustainable and future-ready.”

For Daimler Truck UK, the future is all about readiness. And that means partnering with dealers who are as committed to excellence as the brand itself.

The Euro Commercials Mindset

From Euro Commercials’ perspective, this isn’t just an expansion – it’s an evolution. For Managing Director Jeff Carne, the acquisition is a natural next step.

“We are extremely proud to have acquired our neighbouring Dealer, City West Commercials,” said Carne. “We see this strategic acquisition as being a fantastic opportunity for growth of our business, to expand our presence in the market and to strengthen our customer relationships.”

He added: “We believe that by combining the strengths of both dealerships, we will be better positioned to offer the exceptional service levels that our customers have come to expect, across a wider geographic territory.”

That mindset speaks volumes. It’s not about conquest, but collaboration. The team at Euro Commercials is focused on integrating cultures, aligning values, and delivering a consistent customer experience from Wales to the West Country.

More Than a Rebrand

While the signage might be changing at the former City West Commercials locations, the underlying commitment to quality remains as solid as ever. Customers in Avonmouth, Highbridge and Exeter can expect the same responsiveness, access to Mercedes-Benz Genuine Parts, and round-the-clock support.

To make sure nothing falls through the cracks, Euro Commercials is bringing its renowned operational standards to the fore, complemented by additional investment in customer support measures and technician training.

The rebranding of sites will be more than a lick of paint. It’s a declaration: one network, one standard, many more opportunities.

Looking Ahead with Confidence

Daimler Truck UK’s strategy here is crystal clear – secure a resilient, unified dealer network capable of meeting today’s challenges while laying the groundwork for tomorrow’s mobility solutions.
By bringing Euro Commercials and City West Commercials under one roof, the brand isn’t just growing in size. It’s growing in capability, cohesion, and customer trust.

This latest move in the South West is more than a geographic expansion; it’s a strategic investment in operational excellence and service integrity. It ensures that wherever the wheels go, Daimler Truck UK is never far behind.
