CDE Unveils Rapid Deploy ModaLine Washing Plant for Fast Moving Materials Markets

CDE Unveils Rapid Deploy ModaLine Washing Plant for Fast Moving Materials Markets

Speed has become one of the most valuable commodities in the aggregates, recycling and quarrying industries. Whether operators are processing material at a temporary construction project, opening a new quarry face, responding to changing market demand or mobilising equipment to remote locations, time lost during installation can quickly erode margins.

CDE has now introduced a new containerised washing solution aimed squarely at reducing delays between delivery and production.Β The new ModaLine system marks a notable shift in how sand washing plants may be bought, shipped, installed and commissioned.

Rather than relying on lengthy site assembly, multiple contractors and extended testing periods, the unit arrives pre-configured, pre-wired and pre-tested. CDE says the system can be commissioning ready in as little as two days, with on-site build time reduced by more than 60 per cent compared with similar scale conventional wash plants.

That matters well beyond convenience. Across global construction markets, demand for quality sand and aggregates remains high, while environmental pressure is increasing on virgin material extraction. Recycled construction, demolition and excavation waste is becoming an increasingly important feedstock. Mobile or rapidly deployable washing solutions can help processors unlock value from these streams faster, particularly where temporary or short-life sites would previously struggle to justify a permanent installation.

For infrastructure contractors, quarry operators and recycling businesses, faster deployment also means earlier revenue generation. If a plant begins processing material weeks sooner, the commercial impact can be significant. In competitive sectors where contract windows are tight and logistics costs are rising, the ability to move, connect and start washing quickly could prove a strong differentiator.

Briefing

  • CDE has launched the ModaLine, a containerised plug-and-play sand washing system.
  • The plant can be commissioning ready in around two days, according to CDE.
  • On-site build time is said to be cut by more than 60 per cent versus similar systems.
  • Initial models offer feed capacities up to 250 tph and 450 tph.
  • The design targets quarries, recyclers, remote projects and dealer-led markets.

A Different Model for Wash Plant Delivery

Traditional washing plants often require civil works, staged delivery of components, extensive mechanical and electrical assembly, and a structured commissioning programme. Even well-managed projects can take considerable time before the first tonne is processed. ModaLine appears designed to strip away much of that complexity.

The system is built within a robust steel frame to ISO container dimensions, allowing easier transport by conventional freight networks. That may sound like a simple engineering choice, but it is commercially important. Standardised shipping dimensions can reduce transport complications, improve handling efficiency and simplify international movement compared with oversized specialist plant modules.

For operators working in remote regions or on contract-driven projects, logistics often dictate feasibility. If plant mobilisation becomes too expensive or too slow, projects can lose viability. By containerising the core washing package, CDE is effectively addressing one of the industry’s most persistent headaches.

Kevin Vallelly, CDE’s chief engineer, said: β€œWe’re taking plug-and-play to the next level.”

He added: β€œThis is a site-ready solution unlike anything that has come before it. We’ve packed 35 years of CDE engineering excellence into a fast deploying unit that is simple for dealers to sell and for customers to operate.”

Capacity Without Sacrificing Performance

Rapid deployment systems sometimes face scepticism because speed can imply compromise. In washing operations, throughput, product quality and water management remain critical to profitability. CDE has therefore equipped the ModaLine with technologies already familiar across its wider portfolio.

The system includes the company’s dual-pass cyclone arrangement with integrated Infinity dewatering screen, alongside a sand blending chute, high-capacity sump, onboard control panel and single-point process water connection. Users can also integrate their own stockpile conveyors, adding flexibility depending on site layout and operational preference.

Initial models are rated for feed capacities of up to 250 tonnes per hour and 450 tonnes per hour. Those are substantial figures for a transportable package and suggest the plant is aimed at serious producers rather than niche low-volume users.

In practical terms, this opens doors for medium to large operations needing temporary capacity boosts, rapid replacement of ageing fixed systems, or mobile processing at satellite deposits. It also broadens opportunities for contractors handling major road, rail and urban redevelopment schemes where recyclable material volumes can be high but site duration limited.

Dealers and Distributors

One of the more strategic aspects of the launch is CDE’s clear focus on equipment dealers. In many markets, especially North America, Latin America, Africa and parts of Asia-Pacific, dealer networks are crucial routes to market for specialist plant.

By fixing specifications, pre-testing systems and reducing commissioning complexity, CDE is lowering technical barriers for distribution partners. Dealers can sell a known package with fewer engineering variables, potentially shortening sales cycles and reducing aftersales risk.

Jullian Fegan, CDE’s head of partnerships, said: β€œWe’ve removed the complexity involved in the commissioning of the typical wash plant. ModaLine is pre-wired, pre-tested and pre-assembled with fixed spec, so by the time it rolls onto site the hard work is done.”

He continued: β€œFor our dealers that means fewer variables allowing for rapid, low-risk commissioning, and for materials producers it means your solution is on site faster than before and running material sooner rather than later with the same high degree of efficiency expected of any CDE plant.”

That dealer-first approach could help accelerate market penetration. Simpler products are easier to stock, demonstrate and support. In uncertain markets, that often matters as much as technical capability.

Strong Appeal for North America and Remote Projects

North America appears a natural early market for ModaLine. The region combines large geographies, remote operations, strong contractor demand and increasing pressure to recycle construction materials. Temporary infrastructure projects and dispersed aggregates operations can benefit from plant that moves efficiently.

Tom Childs, Business Development Manager at Goodfellow, one of CDE’s North American partners, said: β€œWe’re really excited about the new ModaLine. It opens up genuine opportunities for plants that need the flexibility to move in and out quickly and operate at remote job sites. The simplicity of the installation is a major advantage, and we see this as a product that will add real value to our customers’ operations.”

That endorsement hints at the commercial logic. In markets where hauling raw material long distances is costly, bringing a washing plant closer to the source can change project economics dramatically.

Sustainability and Circular Materials Trends

The timing of the launch also aligns with broader sustainability pressures across construction. Governments and clients increasingly expect better use of recycled aggregates, lower transport emissions and more efficient water use. Washing technology plays a key role in upgrading waste streams into reusable products.

According to the International Energy Agency, material efficiency and circular construction practices are becoming increasingly important in reducing embodied carbon across the built environment. Systems that allow faster recovery of usable sand and aggregates from waste feedstocks may therefore gain strategic relevance in coming years.

CDE has also highlighted its own ESG targets, including Net Zero by 2050 and reduced emissions across scopes 1 and 2 by 2030. While those commitments sit at corporate level, products that improve resource recovery and reduce deployment inefficiencies support that wider direction.

A Practical Step Forward for Processing Markets

ModaLine is not merely another washing plant launch. It reflects a broader shift in industrial equipment purchasing, where buyers increasingly want modular, lower-risk, rapidly deployable assets that begin generating returns quickly.

For quarry owners, recyclers and infrastructure contractors, capital decisions are increasingly judged on speed to revenue as much as nameplate performance. Equipment that can move between jobs, reduce installation headaches and maintain production quality is likely to attract close attention.

CDE’s latest move suggests the wash plant sector is entering a more flexible era. If the promised deployment speed translates reliably into field performance, ModaLine could set a benchmark others will need to follow.
