The 3rd Annual International Geotechnical Innovation Conference (IGIC 2026) will bring the ground-engineering community to Riyadh on 14–15 October 2026. Created to support the extraordinary scale of infrastructure, urban development, mining and giga-project delivery across Saudi Arabia and the wider MENA region, the conference will connect project owners with geotechnical consultants, specialist contractors, researchers, equipment manufacturers and technology providers.
Its central focus will be closing the gap between ambitious designs and the practical constraints imposed by complex ground conditions.
Technical sessions will examine large-scale ground improvement, hard-rock engineering, tunnelling, groundwater control, slope stability and the management of karst, fractured rock and sabkha soils. IGIC 2026 will also explore how LiDAR, drones, remote sensing, artificial intelligence, digital twins and real-time monitoring are improving subsurface understanding and geohazard management.
New Saudi-focused technical tracks and a dedicated mining geotechnics workshop will give delegates practical insight into managing ground risk across transport infrastructure, underground construction, major developments and the Kingdom’s expanding mining sector.
