MotoCut introduces Plasma cutting attachment for excavators to mechanise pile cutting
As urbanization thrives, use of a deep foundations are needed more than ever and piling makes use of that land that has gone unutilized. So far piling has been mechanized, but in the main the piles are still cut manually – work that is relatively accident prone.
MotoCut, a Finland based company, has solved the issue by mechanizing the pile cutting as well.
The solution is based on their experience of more than 300,000 manually cut down piles. MotoCut’s founders saw that the work could be done easier and safer, and began developing a new kind of solution to mechanize the pile cutting. The company is calling it as a new era of pile cutting.
MotoCut now cuts concrete piles and tubular steel piles and pipes.
MotoCut’s innovations are a new generation of tools, pile cutters that can be installed to an excavator. The company came to market in 2014 with their MotoCut pile cutter for cutting concrete piles. MotoCut’s newest innovation is now being launched this March during CONEXPO CON/AGG 2017 in Las Vegas. The innovation is using a plasma cutter for cutting tubular steel piles and pipes. MotoCut states they’ve reached a new level of versatility for excavators as they’ve for the first time made possible the use of plasma cutters in a mobile version that has the benefit of being able to remove the waste as well.
“Our mission is to make the excavator even more versatile and more cost-effective, as well as safer to use, thereby producing competitive advantage for our users.” said Antti Mäkelä the Founder and CEO about MotoCut’s internationally patented solutions.
The benefits of mechanized pile cutting
While mechanized pile cutting replaces manual labour it also increases occupational safety, cutting down the working time and making the cutting part independent of working conditions resulting in accelerated construction site schedules.
In terms of working with concrete piles, mechanizing pile cutting also prevents occurrence of hand-arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS), a major source of disability amongst the construction workers.
You can see MotoCut’s solutions live at this weeks CONEXPO-CON/AGG
From 7 to 11 March 2017 MotoCut will be at ConExpo at the Las Vegas Convention Center, Las Vegas at the Central Hall on the OilQuick USA stand C32707 and outside, the Silver Lot on the Pinnacle Drilling stand S6517.
