Reference Point and Mitie launch Passport System for the highways workforce

Reference Point and Mitie are delighted to announce the launch of the Passport System (powered by Validate) on 1 August 2020.

This is the same successful partnership responsible for providing the Network Rail Sentinel Safety Solution and service and HS2’s Validate Safety Scheme.

The solution, endorsed by Highways England and sponsored by the Supply Chain Safety Leadership Group, is designed to transform how the competence of the people working on the Highways England network is authenticated and verified to continuously improve standards for the industry.

This not only increases safety but reduces costs and improves efficiency. Passport uses the best, trusted technology to reliably deliver and capture real-time information when and where it is needed to enable workforces to be effective and safe whilst on site.

The powerful Passport database – with corresponding high security smartcard for each worker – provides a single, transferable record for everyone. It confirms an individual’s authority to work in real-time, enforcing safety standards daily.

This enables all relevant data to be easily carried by individuals and, equally importantly, to be checked at any time. The system provides evidence of workforce achievement of Highways England’s common induction (HCI) in addition to managing all other qualifications, skills and competencies held, as well as a wealth of other relevant information about the worker.

The comprehensive solution is supported by the Mitie managed service providing new company registration, user support, training and rapid card personalisation and despatch.
