Sacyr wins €158m Railway Maintenance Contracts in Spain and Portugal
Sacyr Engineering and Infrastructure has been awarded several rail maintenance contracts in the Iberian peninsula worth a total €158.5 million.
Infraestruturas de Portugal (IP), the state-owned company in charge of the national rail network in Portugal, awarded Sacyr Neopul, a Sacyr Engineering and Infrastructure company, and EIP the maintenance contract for Bundle 3 – South, comprising 932 km in total, in the rail and overhead line specializations.
Contract value for this project, located in the centre and south of the country, amounts to €46 million across a three-year period -extensible to an additional two-, and includes predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance tasks.
Administrador de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias Contracts
Over the past few months, Administrador de Infraestructuras Ferroviarias awarded Sacyr Engineering and Infrastructure several rail maintenance contracts amounting to €112.5 million in total:
- Maintenance on the Northern Madrid area high-speed rail track for €56.2 million. This contract comprises the predictive, preventive and corrective maintenance works over a 470 km stretch in four years. The contract is in a JV comprising Sacyr Engineering and Infrastructure, Copasa and Cosfesa.
- Maintenance on the infrastructure and existing rail, drafting and execution of projects and long-term investments, main inspections, and bridge reparation on the south and southwest region of Spain from the maintenance facilities in Cordoba, Linares-Baeza, Merida and Seville. This project comprises over 3,000 km of single-track railway, close to 56 km of tunnels and 34 bridges. Renewal this contract is for a two-year period and worth €40.9 million.
- Preventive, corrective, and auxiliary works at the electrification installations (overhead contact lines, traction power substation and overhead power lines) in the Northwestern area of Spain. This contract is renewed for an additional year and valued at €9.76 million.
- Sacyr Neopul, in a partnership with Vinaelectric, won the predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance contract for the next four years (extendable to an additional year) of the overhead contact line, power controller and point heating system installations and others linked to the Plasencia-Badajoz high-speed rail line. This contract is worth €5.6 million.
