XTREM PRO 2024 Driving DEVELON’s Success in the Indian Ocean and French Guiana
The construction landscape is rapidly evolving, and nowhere is this more evident than at XTREM PRO 2024.
This year’s event solidified DEVELON’s dominance in the Indian Ocean and French Guiana, thanks to its local partners: DMP Réunion, MIM Mayotte, and VMI Guyane—all subsidiaries of the Potier Group. The gathering showcased not only cutting-edge construction equipment but also strengthened vital relationships within the industry.
Strengthening Ties in the Indian Ocean
September brought a wave of excitement to Réunion and Mayotte, as DMP Réunion and MIM Mayotte pulled off yet another successful XTREM PRO. These two Potier Group subsidiaries, exclusive DEVELON dealers in their respective regions, hosted nearly 1,000 visitors, setting a new standard for industry engagement.
The bustling event highlighted DMP and MIM’s pivotal role in the construction and materials handling sectors, all while fostering deeper relationships with their loyal clientele.
A Fresh Take on Event Networking
To kick off the festivities, a stylish evening cocktail reception was held, drawing in 380 guests on Réunion Island and nearly 100 in Mayotte. This year’s addition of a more relaxed, social opening set the tone for the days to follow, offering industry professionals a unique opportunity to mingle and discuss the latest in DEVELON’s product line.
Pierre Le Merle, Development Director for La Réunion and all Potier subsidiaries, commented: “XTREM PRO 2024 is more than just an event. It’s a reflection of our dedication to quality and innovation. The open days have become an essential gathering for building and civil engineering professionals in Réunion and Mayotte.”
Machinery That Turns Heads
The machinery on display at XTREM PRO was nothing short of impressive. Attendees were treated to dynamic demonstrations, showcasing DEVELON’s innovative solutions. Among the standout machines were:
- DEVELON DX100W-7 Wheeled Excavator (11 tonnes) featuring a quick hitch and Steel Wrist tiltrotator
- DEVELON DX57W-7 Wheeled Excavator (6 tonnes) with similar advanced attachments
- DEVELON DX245NHD-7 Crawler Excavator (25 tonnes) equipped with an MB BFS80 crusher bucket and MB S18 screening bucket
These cutting-edge machines exemplified DEVELON’s ability to meet the demanding needs of construction professionals in this fast-paced industry.
Expanding Reach in French Guiana
Meanwhile, on the other side of the globe, VMI Guyane, a newer member of the Potier Group, hosted its own edition of XTREM PRO in October 2024. As the exclusive DEVELON dealer in French Guiana for less than two years, VMI has already made waves in the region.
The event’s highlight – The debut of the DEVELON DD130-7 dozer, a machine that promises to revolutionise construction in the area.
Launching the Future with the DD130-7
The launch of the DD130-7 dozer was a monumental moment for VMI and DEVELON. This highly advanced machine is the first of its kind in French Guiana, and its introduction attracted significant attention. Stéphane Dieu, Excavators and Dozers Product Manager at DEVELON Europe, was on-site to lead the demonstration.
By the event’s end, the DD130-7 had already found its first buyer, with another sale close to completion.
In addition to the dozer, visitors had the chance to test and observe DEVELON’s flagship machines, such as the:
- DX100W-7 Wheeled Excavator
- DX235LC-7 Crawler Excavator
- DL200-7 Wheel Loader
- DD130-7 Dozer
These demonstrations solidified DEVELON’s reputation as a top-tier equipment provider, leaving attendees in awe of the machinery’s capabilities.
Bringing the Industry Together
Like their counterparts in the Indian Ocean, the team in French Guiana knew the importance of connecting with customers in a more personal setting.
The event began with an intimate evening reception, allowing key players in the region’s construction industry to exchange ideas and explore the innovative solutions offered by DEVELON.
A Strategic Expansion
VMI Guyane is a vital part of the Potier Group’s expansion into French Guiana. VMI’s parent company, GLS Group, is a multifaceted organisation that also includes CMI, which specialises in module manufacturing, and PLS, which focuses on rental and transport services. This diversified structure allows VMI to provide customers with unparalleled expertise, drawing from a rich well of knowledge and resources. As Jean-Luc Potier, Chairman of the Potier Group, often says: “With us, it’s the DMP Spirit.”
With a workforce of over 450 and growing, the Potier Group continues to spread its wings across the Indian Ocean and French Guiana. The strategic partnerships with DMP, MIM, and VMI are at the heart of this expansion, ensuring that the group stays at the forefront of innovation. These partnerships enable the Potier Group to offer state-of-the-art solutions, tailored to the unique needs of the local markets.
A Success Story in the Making
XTREM PRO 2024 has been a resounding success, not only for DEVELON but also for the Potier Group and its regional subsidiaries. By organising such events, these companies are not just promoting their products—they’re creating lasting relationships with their customers and partners. These relationships, built on trust and shared vision, are the foundation of their ongoing success in the construction industry.
By the end of the XTREM PRO events in Réunion, Mayotte, and French Guiana, it was clear that DEVELON’s innovative solutions and the Potier Group’s commitment to excellence are a winning combination. With their focus on customer engagement, industry leadership, and technological advancement, these companies are paving the way for the future of construction in these key regions.
As XTREM PRO 2024 draws to a close, the future looks bright for DEVELON and the Potier Group. With new machinery like the DD130-7 dozer setting the standard for innovation, and events like XTREM PRO strengthening relationships within the industry, it’s clear that these companies are well-positioned for continued growth and success in the Indian Ocean and French Guiana.
